Clve Pemberton
Great clip, especially as it's my mk1 steel bodied Antar being driven by Roger, does anybody know when it was filmed? I disagree with Rogers comment that it's not fun to drive, as I think it's bloody great fun.

Must have been a good while ago as that ANTAR was "swapped" out of the REME reserve collection for a more appropriate vehicle at least ten years ago. Paddy1
This clip appeared in the Channel 4 "Classic Trucks" series, and I imagine was filmed for it. The series was shown in 1995 and is long overdue a repeat, along with "Classic Plant." Both were released on video in 1999 but I've not been able to find them for sale in DVD. robin craig
Its even more classic when you consider who the narrator is or was. That is the sadly departed "Mr Monotone" John Peel formerly of Radio One and other forms of entertainment. He died in 2004 so it is before then. Great stuff, is it out on DVD, surely it is. R I've got this on VHS, have digitalized it but it is lurking somewhere on an old disused PC, the program it is taken from was Classic Trucks (1995) will try and find it later.. jimmygmc4
Excellent footage. Good value from the passengers point of view to. Watching puffs of smoke emitted from the gearbox top cover, or was that just when Ray was a the helm?
Zero-Five-Two
Excellent vid, Scammell Commander might be the "modern" vehicle or even that Oshkosh thing they have now, but the Mighty Antar would get my vote every time.
