Jack
When we first arrived at the meeting spot I was greated with the usual abuse - 'got a new truck this year than Jack, where's the pink one :?' - 'what did you say about me in CMV this month ' 'amde on time this time then :schocked:' at this point I stood on the step of my truck and ask if 'anyone wanted a punch up then come and see me as I am in the mood' So another good Dorset event in Poole Park and the day went well, the weather was a lot warmer than last year :schocked: but then that isn't going to be hard - missed some faces this year - Oddball & Karoshi. In all we had 21 vehicles and we attracted great public attention and we help to bring another element to the event. From Poole Park we conoyed down to Poole Quay to lay some Poppies on the moment for the 'Match Box Fleet' (see picture below) which was the US Coast Guard Rescue Flotilla that left with the invasion fleet on D-Day and saved 1437 lives. From there we again went through Poole on the way to the Pub to chill out (in Jesse's case, warm up as he spent the trip in the back of John's Halftrack - complete man's truck). To me this is what owning an MV is all about, direct hands on contact with the public and driving meeting new drivers and new machines. It is a pleasure to amongst like minded people. This year I got very bored very quickley at/with static shows. So the good poinits? Seeing a first class Scammel restoration drive over from the I.O.W just for this morning - that is an amazing thing to do and the bad point? The Bugler blowing the Last Post - if it was me, I would make sure it was his last bleeding post! Hats of to Kev for organising another great day and to Tim for bringing his Scammel and of course to the hero's themselves - the Veterans.
