b2414
New red V5C Logbook ref Self Scrapping. I don’t now if this as been referred to on this forum but has anyone seen that you cannot scrap your vehicle and use the V5C to tell the DVLA you now have to take the vehicle to an authorised treatment facility and they will issue a certificate of destruction if you have broken it up yourself for parts you will have to SORN it until you take what is left to a ATV so we will have to keep all the ID from the vehicle and I suppose some photo proof of what the vehicle was like . any thoughts on this ? .:nut: Bill

N.O.S.
All very well in an ideal world but that is not where we are. How about sending a very small piece of the scrap to a friend abroad and then declaring that it's been 'permanently exported'? Or scrapping it and declaring it's been permanetly exported (India, China) - would be quite true, that's where all the scrap goes Edited May 10, 2011 by N.O.S. ruxy
This is going to be a PITA for "shelved" spares. Grumpy came up with the answer for making a once only and for ever SORN , wonder what he has for this one..
b2414
Just a thought what will happen if you are a market trader ore you just buy vehicles for spares to sell on and it as a new red logbook. Will you have to be registered as an Authorised Treatment Facility? Because the last reg keeper will have to inform the DVLA about the new owner.:nut: Bill
