steveo578
Never mind slagging off Nigeria I've had my ID/bank account details hacked twice on both occasions the only site where the information could have been hacked was those run by government agencies. Can't proove it 100% or I would be very rich but if your bank information was hacked on 2 occasions starting within a week of using their sites -what would you think - if it waddles and quacks it's probably a duck:undecided:. andyroo
The sad fact of the matter is that the DVLA have "lost or misplaced or sold" more personal details than this scam can hope to glean........ They were investigated by Information Commissioners Office early last year and they have been told to pull their socks up or lose the contract. http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/autoexpressnews/214623/dvla_security_breach.html http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/autoexpressnews/email/214623/dvla_security_breach.html http://www.silicon.com/management/public-sector/2007/09/04/privacy-watchdog-clamps-down-on-dvla-data-sharing-39168347/
gritineye
Good link Andy Seems all those people who are afraid of the Internet, but are being targeted by the government to get on line have a point don't they! The DVLA was criticised last year after revealing it made £6.3m from selling access to the names and addresses of motorists to private sector companies such as bailiffs, debt collection agencies and wheel clampers. An investigation also found convicted criminals and companies that didn't actually exist had been granted access to names and addresses from the vehicle register

Wouldnt that be a breach of the Data Protection Act? To that end, DVLA would be open to being sued?...............Just a thought.

schliesser92
Possibly; but then - when was the last time you heard of a private individual, or even an organization, successfully suing a Government Agency??? Never happens - they just get hold of Anne Robinson - she gave the director of DVLA a hard time last year! The English in Lagos schools is definately coming uo to civil service standards!
