Where can i buy Khaki Drab paint

I must have read about 100 pages on the internet about paint in the last few day. I would like to buy some circa 1944 Khaki Drab paint to paint my Matador with. some people seem to think it is the same as Olive drab, but i would like the correct Khaki drab.

HELP Where can I but it Or what is its paint code.

There was no paint called Khaki Drab. Early 1944 saw the introduction of Olive Drab SCC15. Prior to that the standard colour was Brown SCC2 and before that Khaki Green.

 

Olive Drab still appears on BS381C as shade 289, I believe it is still the same as the wartime colour.

Defo Olive drab and available from Frank Burberry...I just had some off them

Yes but make sure you buy English Olive Drab (SCC15 or the modern equivalent as noted by Adrian), not US Olive Drab. You do not want to open the can of worms . . . paint on this subject, but it IS a different colour.

That ref to BS shade of Olive Drab, should be number 298. I have used this for wartime vehicles and it would seem correct after finding evidence of original paintwork in hidden places.

 

As for Khaki Drab, was this an official name?

 

I am just starting to use SCC No.2 Brown, at least what the supplier says it is, and that has a slight resemblence of the colour of British Khaki battledress.

No, it was called Khaki Green No. 3, a.k.a. as "G3" and "Service Colour".

 

S.C.C. 2 was sometimes referred to as khaki brown. Who is the supplier of the SCC No.2 Brown are are using?
