rosie Posted May 11, 2010 Share Posted May 11, 2010 WOW what a few days!!!!! Me and cubelets arrived home this morning, very tired, very wind swept and I am still wobbly!!!!!!! (will say why later!) As some of you know R-cubed has done a cab restoration on the Jimmy and was still doing so Bank holiday Monday ready to catch the ferry Wednesday morning! Well they made it safe and sound with no problems at all. I arrived with the children on Thursday lunch time. The cubed one still over there so he still has the camera so I cant put any photos up yet. We visited the underground hospital (I found it quite creepy). The parade on Sunday was brilliant, lots of people waving and cheering over 100 MVs. Monday 10th a trip was organised for us to go to Sark, well thats an experience eh???? If you've been you will know exactly what I am on about! It was blowing a hoolie anyway and the chap on the boat said it was about a force 6 out to sea. The tiny fishing boat we went over on was getting tossed about all over the place :-| (we need a throwing up smilie!) I wasnt actually sick as I am too tight to part with my cooked breakfast! But what a beautiful place Sark is. The ferry on the way back was just as fun, still wasnt sick as I had just paid out for a lovely steak meal and dont like to waste my money!!!!!!!! Me and the cubelets had to come back to the UK last night so we then caught the fastcat back to weymouth (insert another throwing up smilie here please) now wether it was because I had done the Sark trip on the same day but the ride back across to UK was about as much I could handle and I was losing my sense of humour. Yes I was tired, yes I had 2 tired cublets and yes it was a rougher crossing but I am still feeling wobbly today! I feel like I am still on the fastcat!!!!!!!!! Anyway, love the Channel Islands. Never been to Sark, did do Herm though, it was mild, but still enough to make you want to hang on! Maybe the Admiral (CW) was at the wheel, thats why it was such a rough ride! Richard Farrant Posted May 11, 2010 Share Posted May 11, 2010 Never been to Sark, I did the Guernsey Liberation tour in 1990 and we had a day trip to Sark.........along with Royalty, Princess Alexandra. Transport is either bicycles, tractors or horse and cart, we had the latter. Went to see the hole in the wall place and I was a right woos, I couldnt quite get to the edge and look over the sheer drop but did stand there crying like a baby!!!! No not me, I caught the Condor Clipper on Wed at 17.45 did get put up the *******ramp though :mad::mad::mad: and towing the gun !!!! then they wanted me to reverse back into a parking bay................ well as I cant see the gun behind me I think I did a brill job and you will have to take my word for that. Here is a link to a 10 min film, at 5mins and 40 secs into it you will spot the cubes newly restored pride and joy!!!! My dad is passenger and the 2 cubelets are waving frantically out the back! No quite agree about the ramp, checked the top of the ramp and where I was going before starting up it, also been there and done it but with a long car trailer, just a bit angry they wanted me up on that deck. As an odity, when the guns were cut up for scrap, British Oxygen had to formulate a special mix the steel was so hard.
