Jack
OK - stupid question but is that an old military base?
honeileen
Its an old base and still used. ive used it lots of times for a mountain rescue training base and for deployments. The Ten Tors is run from there and The military use it as a main base on Dartmoor and there is a big debate about the Army staying on the moors. Minesweeper
I was there on an "Escape and Evasion" Exercise in January of 1960. Very cold on the Moor and the DLI were out on it trying to capture members of the SAS and Parachute Reg for interrogation. The Camp was referred to in those days as "Okehampton Battle Camp". daz76
Spent some time there during Ten Tors. Decent place. The only time I've been in a SWB series 3 Landy with 9 other people and kit.
