honeileen Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Hello All:cool2: Im looking for some advice and hopefully someone can help. Here in France my friend has a WWII Daimler Dingo which was bought from a dealer some 18 years ago. unfortunatley said French (dodgy) dealer :stop:never supplied the original paperwork so we are now stuck for selling it. Is there a solution to this other than breaking the vehicle for spares:(. This vehicle is a complete running vehicle so its a shame to break it. Any help/ ideas welcome Christian PS :cool2:whats a Dingo worth nowdays with paperwork to sell it:idea: and if anyone is interested get intouch:iloveyou: Quote
sirhc Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 I'm interested in buying a Dingo, how much do you want for it? Send me a PM! :-D Chris Quote
N.O.S. Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 I was recently told that you bring a vehicle with no paperwork into the UK, you can obtain the necessary paperwork and register it, and apparently you are then able to take it back to said country of origin as the paperwork will be complete. Sacred blue...... Quote
N.O.S. Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 If that is true (and I strongly advise you check it out), and values of Dingos with paperwork in both countries are similar, then it ought to be worth collected from France what it would be worth over here less the transport to UK and transport back again!!. FridgeFreezer Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 I'm looking at a similar situation, but it seems you can register anything as long as you can find some sort of serial number on it and let the DVLA take a look at it. If you can't find a serial number they will even make one up & stamp it on for you. Quote
79x100 Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Is there really no procedure for registering a vehicle in France when the paperwork has been lost ? There is in Belgium and The Netherlands - or is the problem because it's unregistered armour and that's no longer possible ? Quote
honeileen Posted September 8, 2009 Author Posted September 8, 2009 Its because its armour of the 2nd cat whatever that is for the French not that it makes a difference for papers, The amount of vehicles around here civil and military is incredible because papers / carte grise cannot be got from the prefecture and old vehicles need to be scrapped to be world friendly! As for moving the vehicle to the UK as suggested how would that work as I have been following the taking vehicles abroad thread with interest.
