  1. Engine appears to be a HERCULES ZXB 4 cyl engine, unfortunately seized by being unused for about 25 years:embarrassed:
  2. A friend of mine is selling a generator , former U S Army , as he claims it ; I went to have a look , engine and generator are separated from eachother , very small petrol engine ( could be Ford , but not sure of that) and generator is made by O Keefe & Merrit, Sorry no pictures available for the moment , Did the US forces ever used any of that equipment in WW 2 ?

  8. Nice to see this masterpiece of German technology on the roads and fields !
  9. Back in 1944 , towards the end -we were liberated in september '44- of the war , the German Wehrmacht moved a "small caliber" railway gun into our small town . It had a 17 cm barrel , and fired its projectiles about 30 km , towards the city of Ghent and its neighborhood . Same tubes were used on German battleships. The railway track goes trough the town center , so it's obvious that a lot of damage occured at each blast . Now , 70 years after the conflict , many people living along the railway have 17 cm shells at home , even unfired specimen. Couple of yezrs ago I was given a wooden transport case for 2 17 cm shells , with inscription on the cover , (E) , what stands for EISENBAHN . I hope to recover the 2 shells that belongs in it in the near future
  10. All respect , but the bike doesn't look like the pre 1914 model, :-\
  11. Silly laws , in the near future we'll probably have to pierce the tyres , to prevent driving them -only use permitted as a static display! How much worse can it get !!!!:nut::nut::nut::nut:
  12. Nice photo of a Sovjet "Landship Project " , experimental , but have they ever been constructed , as a prototype. It's well known , as the war progressed , tanks and ammo increased in size and caliber , e.g. Tiger I , Königstiger , Mauss ,....
  13. You'll only have acces if you request to join the "Morris Commercial Support Group" on facebook , become a member and follow the restoration proces;)

  15. Last week I bought 2 carrier wheels , fair condition , but one rubber tyre is much larger than the other . Have they been manufactured with different tyres ( size ) ?

  17. One of our team members from 1st Belgian Field Battery is restoring a Morris Quad too , he has almost the complete body , only missing the inner lockers compartments. It sure looks very nice.:-)
  18. Very nice , I supose you wanna get rid of it ? :-))
  19. I had a similar case , altough not with an old military vehicle but a 13 year old Ford Transit. The van had been out in the open, for several days in havy rain . This one had a circular air filter on top of the engine , with on big screw to keep the cover on the filter; When we tried to start the engine , it felt as it was blocked , not doing anything but "clack" Knowing that nothing happened , no one had touched the car since , and it wouldn't start. what had happened , the fibre washer under the cover screw had totally worn out and let all the water drip in the engine , sump and even on the pistons, I guess about 10 liters of water came out of it
  20. A "must see" , while you're in the coastal area is the best preserved -and restored- part of the Atlantikwall , at Raversijde , near Oostende (Ostend) airport , an experience not to be missed !!!!!
  21. is the shovel the same model as used on the gun shield of the 25 pounder ?
