  1. A picture says more than a thousand words !:cheesy:
  2. Among my things I found a "dog tag" which belonged to a French soldier , probably taken prisoner during the first days of the "French campaign", regarding the early number , 1 8 2 9 other markings are : FR STALAG 1 5 4 Any (French) members who can tell more about it ? ,
  3. Hi William , nice to have another " Belgian guy" on the forum, A lot of interesting discussions over here, Regards to the missus,:laugh::laugh: http://www.1stbelgianfieldbattery.be
  4. And it 'll only get worse , believe me , it's all over europe, the scum have all the rights , we have none !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Just a story I've been told very recently , talking about the German occupation of Belgium , and very related to the MW thread , is that a lot of MW's have been rescued from the "Dunkirk area" , lots of them were brought back behind the front line , where they have been repaired and repainted in German "Feldgrau" , it happened also in a Ford garage in our small town here in Flanders, My friend said the German soldiers were very fond of the MW's:D:D:D
  6. No , I'm not hanging on to any mistery , it's in a pool , near the Dutch border ,but on Belgian ground , the village is named "ASSENEDE" , check it out on google , you find out more about it reference words , Assenede , bodemloze put , tank, panzer IV
  7. It's the same over here , if member from BMVT , you'll pay 76 € / vehicle , with breakdown assistance , a fair price I assume !
  8. Terrible news this morning , the country mourns, 28 people , most of them young children, died in a terrible bus crash in Switzerland , they were on their trip to go home from having ski hollidays with their teachers 22 of the children are students of 2 different Belgian schools , mostly around the age of 12 RIP
  9. Metal tube or plastic ?
  10. :-Dmarkings on shovel , jerrycan , nice decoration , no originality
  11. It's 99 % sure it's there , but it seems to be at a dangerous location in the water , locals used to call it "the bottomless pit" , several people died in it by drowning , strong turbulence , and perhaps the major problem , the funds are missing to pay fopr the whole operation. Another problem might be the ownership of the tank , to whom it belongs once it's on the dry , we've heard the village " claims the wreckage" as a statue on the market place , so if someone can bring it above the surface , that doesn't mean you'll own it , so it's one big mistery , but at least we're sure it 's still there , as there are a lot of other "things"
  12. Fort Liezele.pdf This to inform that the 1 st Belgian Field Battery (http://www.1stbelgianfieldbattery.be) , will be organising its artillery ,training weekend , on 25 Pr guns , on April 7 & 8 , open to the public Members of the Garrison , and a Tcheque detachment will also take part at this event, Everybody welcome !!
  13. There seems to be a German Panzer IV in a Belgian creek , There are plans to bring it up the dry ground , but funds are unsufficient, Local population is sure it has been dumped by Germans on the retreat , when it ran dry on fuel , and to prevent from falling in ennemy hands it has been pushed into the water , there seems to be more stuff in the creek , a wartime truck , and lots of ammo
  14. I had several souvenirs , "left behinds" from Belgian , German and Canadian troops , given to me mostly by farmers , who found these objects hidden in their barns , as there were bajonets , canteens , bread tins , even a German Mauser Gewehr 98 with its bajonet, unfortunately , most of these items got stolen from me about 4 years ago , still feeling sad about that , because the people I got it from were the "first" owners after the military , and it had a relation with the spots they had been discovered on, Doing my daily job , I still meet farmers who use WW 2 petrol cans , and even the 200 liter "WEHRMACHT" drum, there still is a lot to discover , couple of weeks ago , a Belgian "police cap" was found , while doing renovation works on a roof , at a local farm , it must have been hidden there since May 1940 , amazing find, very happy the farmer handed it over to me !

  17. Thanks Rob , that 's the one I was looking for , great design but not very practical I think ! Are there any records about how many have been made , and did they actually see service" on the field" ? And what about the limber , was it transported on a truck or simply towed behind ?
  18. That ' s exactly what I thought about it Rob , very scarce nowadays ! I know about 2 of them used as gate guards at the Oosterbeek museum in Holland , :red:, I think they should be kept inside to prevent further damage !
