  1. Welcome in! Maybe you can ease yourself in to 1:1 with a military motorcycle?
  2. Did you guys get another one!? Are all of the Saladins left going to end up in Texas?
  3. If you directly energise the motor from the battery, it will bypass any relays, etc. That will test the motor. Work back from there - it's a fairly simple control system... Cheers, Terry
  4. Does he have the manual? It has troubleshooting techniques and wiring diagrams in it. As a test, bypassing the switch with a couple of jumper wires should tell you pretty quickly if the motor works or not. Cheers, Terry
  5. It's much more complete than the one we're restoring. It should make for a great project. Cheers, Terry
  6. Running with no pressure in the accumulators won't damage anything, but it's not safe; the accumulators effectively act as a battery for hydraulic pressure. In the event that you lose the drive belt, or the pump fails, you'll find that you suddenly have _very_ heavy steering and no brakes, other than the hand brake. If you don't have the equipment yourself, any hydraulics shop should be able to charge them up for you for a moderate fee. Cheers, Terry
  7. Instead of a website, have you thought about just setting up a Facebook page? That can be almost as good as a dedicated site and it won't cost you anything. Cheers, Terry
  8. My Saracen is fitted with the later 4 barrelled smoke dischargers and they have a larger diameter and instead of using a separate charge to propel them, appear to have an electric probe that goes into the bottom of the grenade and sets it off that way.
  9. Sounds like an interesting place. I'll have to add it to my list of things to see and do in NZ. Cheers, Terry
  10. I think that the New Zealanders use that one...
  11. http://www.scottsoldautorubber.com.au/Vintage%20Wiring%20Harness%20-%20Erskine%20to%20Fiat.htm Prices are in Australian Dollars, so cheaper than USD. We call CMP trucks Blitz trucks in Australia, for some reason, but they have a listing for the F60S. You might need to email/call to confirm that it has all of the attachments you require. Cheers, Terry
  12. We're in the process of fitting a new harness to our Number 9 Chev gun tractor at the museum; I'm not sure where we got it from, but it appears to be a really well made harness. Would you like me to enquire about it? Cheers, Terry
  13. I've got one, but I've misplaced the hose. Can't find it anywhere. If anyone has a spare that they want to part with, please let me know. Cheers, Terry
  14. If you get those photos, I'd be keen to have a look.
  15. I've not been able to find any service history for mine, but I would love to have it. Ideally, I'd like to get the proper markings back on them. All I know is their British and Australian registration numbers. Cheers, Terry
  16. I'll probably never own one - I prefer post war and soft skins don't really do it for me, but I drove a WC51 in this year's ANZAC Day March in Adelaide, and it was a lovely truck. I've got to admit that I was tempted. I'm sure that you will love it. Cheers, Terry
  17. I just randomly came across this picture of a Centurion on Facebook and think it might answer your question...
  18. Welcome in. Your little club in Texas seems to have a lot of fun. If I ever relocate from Australia, that's where I'll be heading. Cheers, Terry
  19. Shipping, quarantine and customs into Australia are expensive, if he's not in a hurry to sell, good luck to him. Cheers, Terry
  20. Make sure you've got some spare cash to pay for a recovery when you get bogged.
