  1. Are these the ones that used to be paired with Scammell Crusaders and used for moving Engineer Plant vehicles?
  2. By the same token. If you use new Nylocs do not be tempted to reuse them on a safety critical item. Use New.
  3. THe other ad on thre is slightly cheaper. http://www.dragondriving.co.uk/renovation.php
  4. On the M1 Southbound last night 22-6-17 about 21.00 Between Sheffield and Worksop Recovery flatback with LWB Landie on board with another LWB following close behind.
  5. On the M40 yesterday 22-6-17 heading North around J16 On the back of a low loader a Sea King Helicopter. Possibly for museum display somewhere?
  6. Latest issue of Old Glory has a feature on the Bedford R Series. May be worth a look while in Smiths or wherever.
  7. Just to bump this topic. We are looking for any information on this locos service in the Middle East during WW2 from 1943 and upto repatriation in 1947. Can anyone supply any detail please? Otherwise we have had no progress on this loco as other vehicles have had to take priority. That may change in the near future though. Thanks in advance.
  8. Could that be an example of what happens when you do not have a rotating tow hook?
  9. Especially when off road at least one of the tow hooks needs to be free to rotate or else damage can result. Initially with the ring twisting in the tow hook possibly forcing it open.
  10. In the 70's - 80's Barton Stacey was the location of the Map making branch of the RE's
  11. Not sure about earlier vehicles but MK's with POL pods used to have to be earthed by a stake when in use. Could this be the stowage point for a Earthing stake? Is there an odd looking bolt with a bit of wire nearby? Failing that the tip of a GS Spade looks like it would fit nicely in the slot.
  12. Dick Kerr There is a page on Wiki but it is not playing at the moment. This should be a similar loco at a museum in France. https://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://meridianmodels.co.uk/assets/img/content/mm16-dick-kerr-aduckworth-taco.jpg&imgrefurl=http://meridianmodels.co.uk/mm16-dick-kerr.php&h=361&w=460&tbnid=6LwButkyCpM7pM&tbnh=199&tbnw=253&usg=__MNdx_4HQPNs_9AsjMkx5G5ngXYU=&docid=iGRX8m2rGJ6roM
  13. By coincidence I saw this ad today. https://monsterstuff.net/collections/phone-accessories/products/2m-5m-10m-5-5mm-inspection-usb-waterproof-camera-android-pc-free-shipping-worldwide
  14. Turning off the A64 this morning about 08.30 Possibly off onto the A169 and heading for Pickering / Whitby. Series Land Rover LWB with trailer. Dark Blue lettered up for ROYAL NAVY. Is there a Mil vehicle rally in the area?
  15. Binned could be fitted out with storage racking. 16 BVD - 16 ? Base Vehicle Depot
  16. I see ample lubrication is being used. ;) Not in WD40 form either. Looks very clean compared to other vehicles. Must be good stuff that tar.
  17. I googled the layout and these files came up. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=overlord+model+railway+layout&espv=2&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjEnv2gyKnTAhVmD8AKHUYaBgwQsAQILw&biw=1280&bih=894 As for vehicles being of the right type. The basic premise to me is If its a military layout and you have a military model dated within 10 years then I don't think the average punter would know the difference. I probably wouldn't.
  18. Was on a stand at York Model Rly show today. One of the stands is Overlord showing a D Day dockside with vehicles ready for loading. Some photos here.
  19. Not forgetting the 12t Plasser as well. The 45T Ransomes, however, is now resident at Grosmont looking a bit forlorn. Part of a WW2 order for Railcranes. Thanks for the comments
  20. Our Groups Cole's rail crane is listed in there.
  21. Early 80s and Puttees could still be found.
  22. But that would surely bring you back to where you started from?
