    ACF help?

I'm not after any of the NVA money, I just thought that anybody who wanted to sponsor us as a PLC or private person would consider this. barry

    ACF help?

Just found out today that the ACF is sending Cadets to Normandy to accompany each veteran and I have been chosen to go with them, not bad considering the amount of applications. The Army Cadet Force Association is Sponsoring Durham ACF to take a Minibus of Cadets and Adults, to a max of £1,000.out of this we will have to pay for the campsite, ferry and expense. the approx cost per person is £100, so a bus will cost £1,500. so there is a shortfall of £500,it might sound like I've got a brass neck in asking, but any sponsor money would be gratefully accepted. Barry.
  6. Congrats alien,:yay::yay::yay: hope mother and bairn are doing fine. Barry
  7. Very nice vehs, very similar to a 432/30. Drove a 113 once in Cyprus, the Canadians (PPCLI) regt day was the same as ours. They nicked our SSm's Mk 1 ferret, painted it pink and filled the bins with concrete. In retaliation a group of us stole one of of there 113's and hid it in the Naffi compound by removing a six foot panel fence, driving it in the replacing the fence. When the CIVPOL came looking for it they never thought of looking the other side of the fence. They volenteered me to drive it as i was a 432 driver and it's basically the same to drive. Barry

  20. I apologise about the mounting arrangements, my confusion is over the fact that the Gnr/Cmdr are on the opposite sides and not the co-ax. Bazz
  21. a USA saying means placing on a magazine and cocking the weapon. In UK parlance this is 2 seperate drills, 1, Order "with a magazine of ?? rounds load" 2, Order "Ready", cocks the weapon. These above are a basic explanation, there is more to these drills. Bazz
  22. The armoured car sqn at Episkopi ( A Sqn 15/19 H). 85-87, had ferrets with 7.62 gpmgs and were experimenting with fitting gpmgs as co-ax to the Saladins. The problem with the Saladin mount as I seem to recall was the fact that the co-ax mount was on the right of the 76mm and as the gpmg feeds from the left the actual method of mounting it was very difficult, due to feeding of the ammo belt and that the ballistic trajectory of the .30 that matched the 76mm, the 7.62 was different and there was problems matching this to the ballistic graticle in the Saladins sight. I have never seen a Browning .30 on UK service adapted to 7.62 Nato in disintegrating link. Bazz
