An article in Feb 2009 issue of MV Magazine about removing gas residue that had formed in a vehicle that had not been used in 40 yrs or so in 1918 ford 3 ton tank, that had not been run since 1962. they found using alcohol , time and patience was the only method that worked for them , they dont say what kind of alcohol they used I m thinking denatured ?

  5. Welcome to the friendly forum , The only requirement is an interest in things basicly Military colored while ownership is optional . If you have any photo's from your time in the service please feel free to post them as photo's from real service are ways to confirm how it really was . You will find a number of folks here that will want to ask many questions of your experiances with K9's which before I joined I thought was only connected to the name of the Robot Dog that traveled with the Doctor , OK OK and to Police dogs . Please to keep your distance from the kennels as many of the other members keep their semi wild beasts in there ........Ferrets , Weasels , Hippos etc .

  8. Welcome to the Friendly Forum , please feel free to post what ever photo's you have of your tracked weapons system and be ready to answer all sorts of question about it from the lubricants you apply to the road wheels to the dials and switches on the control panels . We may need to give you a parking spot well away from the clubhouse on the rise to the south east as thats the best advantage post to get a lock on incoming aerial objects. Yes we understand the missles are deact's but it will shake things up with the Rapier on guard duty !
  9. Here's a different way to sing the Happy Birthday song , good no matter your age to have a fun time with your Family and friends . http://www.sunjournal.com/story/292911-3/LewistonAuburn/Happy_birthday_military_style/ Hope you have a good party and a Great Year .
  10. get the largest cfm out put you can afford with the largest storage tank and you ll be doing it right . what makes a compressor last is the amount of time it spends running hence if it got a large tank and once thats filled the compressor can either coast or stop for longer period of time and will let you draw down the system pressure /volume longer than a cheap lower cfm unit with a minimum sized storage tank .In a perfect world you would want to use only about 80% of the output of a compressor to allow it to recover and pause from time to time .
  11. they Have or had one of those at the Aberdeen Maryland Military Museum I ll see if I can find a photo of it or another . yes very spiderly contraption I think it was an attempt to reduce weight and a smallerish target to hit . the wikipedia link to the skeleton tank with photo's and story http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skeleton_tank

  17. Over here We had one or more pressue washer companies (MITM, Titan) that make a stand alone add on boiler that could burn Diesel /Home heating oil or kerosene they needed a AC supply to run the burner blower assy. since they went on the output side of the cold water pressure washer up to 3000 psi or so ,the pump never saw the heat. they ran some where about 180 degrees f . A real Steam system I d think would be better as its heat output would be much higher and I d think be lower psi so less gunk to be splatted about.
  18. Afine looking vehicle , great to see another saved for the kids in the future to see and learn from.
