  3. Must be nothing worth watching on the telly :-D
  4. The drums in your pic here, look identical to those on British made carriers. I have seen one with casting makers initials, WSW on a Brit carrier axle.
  5. Paul, There is a core plug hidden behind the bell housing, so you will need to replace it. There is one behind the starter too and I would suspect they all could be corroded at least the lower ones. If you remove the bottom hose and the core plug by starter, plus drain tap, you can use a pressure washer to clean out the sludge, putting it in the core plug hole and flushing forward, it takes a time and a hot wash type will bring better results, wash until water runs clear. Be carefull fitting new plugs as without a special tool you can knock them straight through. regards, Richard
  6. Why...... is there something on then? :undecided:
  7. Congratulations to David, well deserved. He is a real authority on the subject and always been helpful.
  8. Hi Cliff, Welcome ... think i've seen you before :-). Quite few modelmakers on here as well as MLU. Have fun, regards, Richard
  9. Hi Shane, More like in the first 10 ! I checked up and noted that I worked on 32BA78 in 1980 when it was in-service, and that was No.4. Your earlier post of into service date of 1951 may be incorrect, as your hull ID plate shown, says built Sept 1952
  10. I will wait until the paperback edition is released
  11. Tim and Steve, If the float were to fail, there is still the one I have here, brand new. Not dug it out yet.
  12. Happy New Year to you too, Ray. Keep the stories coming through 2012, enjoying reading them.
  13. OK. I was just going by the turret shape, Crossley must have used same style. Bit before my time
  14. If you go on the TfL website and do a search for 2018, it comes up with all sorts of things that are planned up to that date, nothing regarding vehicles that we do not know already. My guess is that there are no policies in the pipeline after 2018 at this point, so therefore it is a blanket answer on the registration search. Think you are reading too much into it.
  15. That reads like an office job, might not even have time to dream about mv's :-D I have had the dream job of a MV enthusiast for 38 years, working full time on military equipment dating from 1936 to mid-90's, love every minute of it.
  16. I remember as an apprentice, one of my colleagues went to the Howard works, and was told that machine was their SH1T model :-D
  17. It was designed that body sides, tailboard, doors, etc could be removed, yet still functional, in order that it could be lifted by the then in-service Westland Wessex helicopter, a stock civvy model would have been too heavy.
  18. Looks like a Lanchester (?) armoured car that has got its rear axle bogged. Looking at the number might be in India.
  19. looks like a shepherd taking his girlfriend out for a ride ...........
  20. So which Dodge owner is going to build a replica?
  21. There was a Centurion ARV in the first Gulf War I recall, named "Lucozade". The advertising slogan around that time was......wait for it ........."Lucozade aids recovery"
  22. Oh, that makes sense, I saw it going the other way on Christmas Eve, must have had an urgent abnormal to escort somewhere :undecided:
