  1. Because we can be found! And we are law abiding. The answer is follow the rule but make sure you know what the laws are. Do not allow yourself to be brow beaten. Ask any Police officer for an explanation, you are intitiled to it and if thier doing the job properly it helps them because you can't claim you didn't understnd.

    Gas

Gas burning technology has been around as long as the internal combustion engine. Italy was producing, producer and charcoal wood gas vehicles back in 1920's. If it's that good why does liquid fuel prodominate? Its a lot of money, can lead to problems on ferries and is an absolute NO in the eurotunnel. There have also been construction and use issues in the past, and insurance. The only reason it apperas it is worthwhile at the moment in UK is (Sorry Jack) the political mood, whiich changes with the weather. LPG is only cheap because of subsidy. If that goes it would more expensive than conventional fuel. It is also in Short supply so don't expect the price to hold. I looked very carfully at doing my 101. 5 years ago it would have taken 30,000 miles a year over 4 and half years to make it viable. Admitted fuel has gone up, but so has the conversion.
  3. All the usual suspects  See you got my 101. It is nicw little show, except for the obvious, can be hard to find. :-D
  4. See, the other side always have the best kit. I definitely like the soldier's comforts.
  5. Oh didn't know that. Good, I kit up as RASC. Run Away Someone s Coming.
  6. Most of this year concentrated on the Great War. about time they had alook in. Monday was busy. you know what they say 'Saturday for Tesco, sunday for the show'. There was some nice Axis kit there. MOD EDIT.. Title changed
  7. Having talked to him today. I'm not going there. :-D
  8. Very simple. Unless you are on the showground or taking part in an event, treat as live weapons. Carry in case, trigger covered. Never leave alone in a vehicle. NEVER take out of case in a public place. If asked even by police, politely refuse, point out it would be an offense to carry uncovered in a public place and offer to go to a secure location such as the police station. Always carry paperwork with you . Thanks to several thousand pounds spent by IWM on council's advice, a de- ac is not a replica. It will be legal to buy and sell after 1st October. Problem is many police on the street are not au fay with the firearms act. See something like a gun , react first. I can't say I blame them. So always be polite and don't play stupid, you could die of it.

    Gas

Sorry  trouble is with so many crazy ideas that seem bent on turning anywhere inside the M25 into a pedestrian precint it is getting worrying. Anything that hits commercial vehicles and emission targets by fall out hits a lot of MV owners.
  10. Course you will!! The beauty is they were designed by engineers to do a job, and to be fixed by common sense in the dark in the middle of a battle. Makes you wonder why design seems to have gone backwards. :-D
  11. Magic All :-D I'll start the ball rolling with Major Finch.
  12. Next year will be the hundreth anniversary of the TA. The REME TA at Ashford is planning a July event sat their barracks. the idea is anything that REME could have worked on from 1908. They would like to get all the recovery vehicles used by REME down there. The idea has also been put up of a dispaly- parade of military ambulances for the RAMC TA. anyone intrested?

    Gas

:argh: :banghead:  :dancinggirls: :yay:  :died: I DRIVE a bus in Ken's haven. If I put what bus drivers call TFL Jack would moderate ban and hang draw and quarter me. Let's say the drivers aren't impressed. so to keep him happy, there were two Hydrogen powered (Gas) buses on trial with us in north of the paradise. Very nice machines , stunningly quick, but same problem, cost of maintenance and fuel used. Also as gas doesen't have lead does the head have to be done as well?
  15. Now this is really going to upset Red Ken, bringing something like this into his little socialist commune. Remember the fun the guy had a few years ago with the Abbot? Even the MOD got involved with that. Someone in gestapo headquarters came up with 'you can't have a tank in London' to which the reply was 'It isn't a tank'. After a lot of yes it is, no it isn't, the good old MOD were asked their opinion (!!) the reply It is not a tank, it is a self propelled gun. He got to keep it and drive it, painted pink down Whitehall.

  21. Pros of Jeeps, fit nicley in puddles so you don't splash the bottom of your Dodge. :shocking:
  22. To err is human, with computers you get a right royal screw up. :computerterror:
  23. Doesn't make good journalism! Just expect the majority of the media would rather show us as a bunch of militaristic 4x4 driving planet murdering nutters. It take the emphasis of their own very dubious actions like trying to take bombs into airports and then when caught go holier than thou that it 'Is  in the public intrest'.
  24. Dodge pros, parts easily available, about the same price as Land Rover , nicer to drive than a series 3 hell of a sight easier than dealing with a 101.

    Gas

I've always wondered about this. First thing is LPG cannot give the same milage as petrol or diesel, the calorie count is lower. You would have do a lot of milage or live in Red Ken's tyranny to make it worth while.
