  5. Why shouldn't that show organisers do it? For the prices they charge at W&P someone has is using gold plated spanners. When the public are in, yes take care of your kit, but the behaviour of some exhibitors during the evenings would get them arrested outside the feild.
  6. I love that word 'guidance'. Legal definition 'We haven't a clue so will make it as we go along'. :banghead:
  7. Despite our fearless goverments 'strong actions' over the last ten years, illegal weapons are cheaper then legal ones.
  8. Apart from electrics the FFR is the same as Land Rover bog standard. A Haynes manual will give all the info you need.
  9. Live in a Foxhole :? No way, if I'm re-enacting while the public are there, fine, I'm acting. But once they have gone, to follow the old Army rule, let the other man be uncomfortable. I have the perfect camouflage for plastic camping, put the tent in a tent :-D
  10. The vehicles are there as props for the rest of the display. It is not a line up of green machines. Call it re enactment, living history interpretation orwhatever, I show tmy vehicles in the context they would have been used. My vehicles are tools, the ambulance is an ambulance and stand as such as events the Dodge is a workhorse, delivering washing machines and carting stuff about. Yes they are things which I love in thier own right, but I want to acheive more than just a line . Hence I don't go to Beltring.
  11. We really MUST get the Portaloo serviced.
  12. Now Now she's already got me into trouble :redfaced:
  13. Be fair, it's never meant to be a military vehicle show. The emphasis is living history, vehicles are props. I enjoy the show.
  14. Send me a PM with e mail and i'll try to send you th eportion of the manual.
  15. It's a gas cape for treating casualities under.
  16. Unseen panoramas of the Western Front. By Peter BartonISBN 1-84119-745-9 Not cheap but worth raiding the library for. The book includes 2 CD-ROMS of the panoramas. The book has a fund of detail on the topography on the area, worth knowing even if your main intrest is WW2, and several maps. If you visit the area of the front it will add a whole new dimension.
  17. Its a buzzy keepy outy thingy :-D

  24. I was working at Aviation Jersey when John Dodds tried to get some spares for the Meteor engine in his 'Rolls Royce'. No wonder Rolls were not happy, the engine was a Meteor Rover build. All sorts of claims were made for it. None were satisfactorily proven.
