  1. Yes Roger it does very much!! Number one son if after kit for a 1964 SWB FFR. All he has to do now is rebuild it! :-D
  2. As the towbar becomes effectivley part of the structure I'd say that is long overdue. I remember an incident years ago at an AWDC event when the nato hitch sherred off the front of a stuck vehicle when it was yanked. I hit the bottom of a ditch very quick.
  3. I'd recommend Nikwax tech wash for delicate kit.
  4.:rofl::rofl::rofl:That's why he's so jaded in the mornings! All that late night travelling to cover tracks.
  5. Very true, as mentioned on another thread the US used and still use heavy trucks for long range transport, the UK used railways. For Britsh 'trucks' I'd say the best types were the various Tillys. Proven commercial mechanics. Though the Quads were very advanced vehicles for their age and proved to be superb.
  6. OY 'aint it working this time? Sorry I'm afraid I consider any American vehicle of the Forties to be superior to any British truck. (rapid digging of deep trench with overhead protoection)
  7. my two lived outside the flat for quite a while, in fact directions were given, go to that army trucks and then turn... As long as there taxed MOT and insured. Trouble is the local G***ts getting tanked up on a Friday night! I distrubed one little S***T trying to steal my beat up old Landy Safari. Couldn't belive how fast he got from the front to the back and out of a single open rear sliding window. I wonderd why he'd be intrested in an old heap. Following night the newly opened branch of John Lewis at Nugent retail park was ram raided.
  8. There are quite a few now regularly visting the Britsh shows. Like all dealears some good some bad.
  9. We could hold a rematch on the clubhouse playing feilds!! :yay:
  10. Hi Brendan! I to know your Halstead, we have one not far away across the water. Used to be up down to your neighbours at weathersfeild!
  11. Calm down dear!! it's only to distract the great unwashed from every other ***up. After all we all know the 'Other sides' voters are the caravanning lot! Mind you with some of the ways I've seen people towing it wouldn't be a bad idea. However towing an unsafe trailer you can still be got under Construction and use regs!Livestock transport now comes under it's own set of weird and wonderful rules. One nasty that is orbiting rounmd Brussels concerns private Heavy goods. The idea of bringing them under driving hour rules and tacho's. So you must have a certain amount of 'Rest' per week. The devil is the definition of rest is 'Time which you allocate at your discretion'. The possible foul up is that if you are working 9 till 5 five days a week, have you had the nessacary rest before driving your truck to a weekend show?
  12. The trick is you know what it's worth. 1944 dated US ammo box, perfect nick £1 at a boot sale. Brand new Tilley Gaurdsman Lantern used by railways and military, £5 , don't know if it works mate. Well a £1.50 mantle and it did. Then again you get junk that people ask a fortune for and siome numpty pays it! :-D
  13. They bred 'em tough in Netherlands! :-D I'm suprised you can afford it , with the Dancing Girls to keep. :cool2: Anyway next year is the 65th Anniversary of the end of WW2 so there may be some better shows about.
  14. Then I've had a liftime of practice! :cool2:
  15. Thanks, I've been studying various photos and they seems in some to be a mix of BD and OG.
  16. Do we start buying snorkels and floating cranes then? :-D
  17. Can't see that in the middle of London.
  18. The beauty of I player. Get the show when you have time. I hope you lot a large traunch of the Licence payer's hard eraned cash though! Nice to see it spent somewhere useful. :-D
  19. Ah-HAAAA!!! but weren't the crossbowmen Genoeise? :n00b:
  20. Welcome, as far as planr goes there is some ex mil kit about here. The most probable pice used round here is Handle, mattock , adjustment of attitude for the use off. Normally found in the moderators private bar, where we think, the dancing girls are hidden. Enjoy the mayhem.
  21. Problem with a WC54 is do you call it a van or an ambulance? The MOT rules are totally diffrent for both. With that weight as a van, it should be plated, as an ambulance it is just a Class 4 (Car) MOT, rehardless of weight.
  22. I never cease to be amazed at the diplomatic manner with which members of this forum deal with ladys! :-D
  23. True or least unde 1%. Still drink enough :-D The .22 Ensign is based on the Lee action, standard single shot military competion rifle. supposed to be retired next year. Not bad comsidering the Lee action was first adopted about 1900.
  24. As for wild pigs! Sometime ago in Kent, Rural by British standards, only about 100 people per square mile. Someone decided to raise wild boar. closley penned of course! Till a major hurricane in 1987 decided to flatten everything and they all got loose. Walking in the woods in some places has become quite intresting in places. there are also Wild Wallabies (The Australian Hopping thing) in Derbyshire. Also please come and take your grey squirrels back! The **** things are a bl**dy nusiance! Not to mention we seem to have bred a bullet proof variety,:-D
