  1. Hi Wayne, To be honest it was about 34 years ago. I remeber the toast rack. Where she came from I don't know. I think she was from a UK dealear. The Jersey Chase club may have some photos in their archive. The Jersey transport office may have info.http://www.gov.je/pages/contacts.aspx?contactId=50
  2. Welcome Hedd. Austin 7 has a long military history.
  3. Going right off you! :pfrt: I haven't been able to find one
  4. Fine, but does anyone know who owns the old girl? There is a chance I might have a picture of her in her golden days.
  5. :wow::wow::wow: Looking at the photos, yes it is the one I used to play with. She ended up being owned by the Jersey Drag Hunt & Chase Club. Benson & Hedges were sponsors at the time. She had a hard top in B&H livery and a 50 mm ball, no it was a 2 inch ball! To tow a Rice Farmers Hunt trailer, also in B&H livery. When she was used in the film she had only just arrived and was in an all over grey primer. I think we also used her to transport a horse called Barnaby. If you have ever seen the Monty Python Highway man sketch? Where Lupins are being stolen, there is a scne with a sily song Dennis Moore on his horse Concorde. That was filmed in Jersey.
  6. That J reg Landy. Does it by any chance have a odd hole in the back chassis member? Or any trace of black and gold paint? Age about 1964 to 1968? If so it may well be an old friend. And starred in a film with Suasn Hampshire called Neither the Sea nor the Sand.
  7. ID love to get the pocket watch that goes on the front of a 19 set. I did get a beautiful 1930's Wyler incabloc from a boot sale for a fiver. It is 'military style'. Didn't relalise what I'd got till I looked it up. Still keeps beautiful time.
  8. If you want a really great way to empty the house after a party, show your .... Collection of.....Bus Vids!!:cool2:
  9. LOOK OUT!! Youre cargo is escaping!:-D
  10. Thought you'd pick that up. :-D Did give everyone a laugh though.
  11. At least, unlike a certain person on the BBC, everyone was clear of the recovery area and lines.:-D
  12. Welcome along, you should find plenty of like minded here.
  13. Assuminmg in Britian it wasn't sabotaged by peace protesters dropping a leaf on the line.

    Big ray

I know Ray. when you get on a horse you are trusting your life to them. They are a lot stronger than you, even the little ones. Yet they will consent to carry you. The best lesson I was ever taught is 'You have absolutley no right to ride a horse and expect it to accept your control, until you can control yourself'! The book, play and hopefully the film War Horse has a passage where a German Soldier goes mad, when he hears the scream of injured horses, calling 'Why the horses? They didn't ask to be here!'
  16. There is also a108 foot wire antenna, you need the mast for that though.
  17. Yeah but the suspender belts don't half make your eyes water if the elastic goes! :wow: On the funny side I was wearing battle dress trousers, boots and gaiters at a show. I was lying under a Quad dealing with an exhaust clamp. One woman came up and said 'That dummy under the truck looks very realastic'.
  18. With DPM being 'fashion 'it's damn dificult to tell a real soldier anyway. The RLC have just been told they can't wear stable belts, no one seems to know why, some plonk from Main I expect. I do know it has got the boys backs right up!
  19. The old Duchess would have thrown forty blue fits seeing all those vehicles under the wall. She only needed one blue fit to make you head for the hills. Happy memories of that place. Anyone know a film caled Lady Jane? Filmed on the estate. Opening titles a load of horse thoundering over the hill.
  20. Should use a Dodge server rather than a Jeep server.

    Big ray

Doesen't get any easier Ray, no matter how many times. Though it the last duty you owe to the horse.
