  1. Degsey's better than a dictonary!
  2. Invest a few quid in Hygometers, one for Anti Freeze and one for Battery, cheap simple and soooo useful!:-D
  3. I read somewhere that on D-Day there were about 5 Million jerry cans available, by the time of Market Garden only about 1.5 Million could be found. I've also seen pictures of Allied vehicles with German Jerry cans on. If it works use it. One guy I know in Jersey has a Wermacht Jerry can on his vehicle, when I asked him why, he told me it was a family heirloom, his Dad had nicked it on Liberation Day.
  4. Black metal roof paint goes straight on to Galvanised.
  5. Black metal roof paint is quite effective as well.
  6. Also a Moggy would be a third of the value/ cost of repair of a J**p How companies decided wether and how much they charge is beyond me , if you can save £300 plus just ringing two companies, with the sdame details! Who knows?

  12. When your thirty feet underground...No one can hear the screams!
  13. Up to about 1970 the cap was black with a removable white cover then it went other way round, and a black cover went on for night. A best Sunday Divisons Cap Tally has Gold lettering embrodired on. The day to day is printed. The tallys are quite fragile so you are lucky it survived. It was, don't know now, a bit of a tradition to buy spare tallys to sedn to family and friends.
  14. I have sen a few old engines with a storage place for a spare spark plug, and a bulkhead fitting for storing a spare.
  15. Have you any Silca Gel packets? Warm them and place on the box. If you can then wrap shrink wrap or something round and leave for twenty four hours, that should take any moisture out with no damage to anything else. I bought a dehumidifier because of damp problems in the flat, it has also found a secondary use for drying vehicles out and supplying soft water for cooling systems, not that cheap though.
  16. Might it be wise to specify 'What For'? :red:
