Tony, I know your Father was a very lucky man. To have a Son who was so proud of him.

    Christmas

The drawbridge will go up. The electric fence switched on , the minefeild fused and the sharks in the moat go unfed. Do Not Disturb from 24th December till 28th .
  4. Tell me, I might forget. Show me, I might not understand. Involve me, I will learn.
  5. There was a Gentelman in Croydon, South London, who was persecuted (Yes , spelt right! :-D) By Croydon Council for parking his Tank on the road contrary to the by-laws! He pointed out, with the help of the MOD that an Abbot is not actually a 'Tank'. So PRRRUP! to you mate! He also painted it bright pink and sped down Whitehall in London, with 4 plastic pigs with Bobies helmets on it! The Police outside Downing Street were falling about laughing , and the look of the young women driving a little Vauxhall as the Abbot screamed up behind her..... Priceless!
  6. We took the vehicles to a school in Jersey on the 60th anniversary of the Liberation. My old primary school La Moye. The kids didn't know the vehicles were coming till the last minute. We heard the cheers from the laying up point about 400 yards away. Grown men were seen to quail. If we don't encourage the young and talk to them about what really happned, then Holly wood and Vidio games history will prevail.
  7. Welcome, the 'Project' ah! Starts so easily.

Deepest condolences to the Family. The Forum has lost someone with a rare insight and wonderful sense of humour.
  9. I'd modify that throttle. I've driven a couple of vehicles with the throttle in the middle, can get quite exciting if you go to hit the brake in a hurry. :-D
  10. We should be next Door at Gold, so hopefully will all meet up.

Someone has to pay the cost of buying it!
  14. :-D:-D:-D Yeah , and here was the air support! With typical Normandy weather.
  15. Will also be a complete ****** for Charity shops!
  16. I never had any trouble. The local Gendarme's at Ver Sur Mer werte a great bunch, so I drove down onto the beach and all the way along past the checkpoints. Another way is to offer to take some of the local kids for a ride along the beach... works evry time.
  17. Mine are both 1944 4th Feb for the 54, 24th Oct for the 51. I wonder if the Norwegian took only late manufacture ones?
  18. That makes my two thier sisters! What's the chassis number on yours Richard?
  19. The batteries don't go flat on a book! You can hide behind it, have several open and spread about at the same time. And you can't use a e- bok to light a fire or deal with a distressing stomach upset! I like books, though digital manuals are useful. You print the pages you need and it dosen't matter if they get covered in muck.
