  1. My problem is that they DON'T want me to have a medical! I renewed the mug shot on my licence last year, and in order to 'Align' the dates, my D licence is now till 2018 though the 5 year medical is due now. I've quiryed it, the Manger quiryed it, the Company have quriyed it! DVLA are adamant it is valid till 2018, no futher paperwork wanted till then. Or in other words 'We've cocked up big time! It will cost a fotune to put right, so ignore it, and it will dissapear in 5 years.
  2. As is well known here. I've quite a collection of Pressure Lamps. Lovely mix of Alchemy and Arson!
  3. Thanks, he's going to love that!:-D
  4. Wait till the plumbing starts playing up! :cool2:
  5. Just had dealings today with the dreaded DVLA over medicals, both I and my manager hitting our heads on the desk. The Bu**ers make it on the spot!
  6. Without checking, I think the duckboars and revetting were produced, behind the lines by Chinise workers. The trench dimensions were supposedley standard so the duck boards would have been the same. Remeber that they were mounted on an inveted A frame so that , in theory, water would run underneath. http://www.1914-1918.net/intrenches.htm
  7. If they are LED then you will need either to wire a load in, complicated, or get an LED rated flasher unit, same cost as a standard and much easier to do. I've done this to my Dodge.
  8. Good old military wiring! First check you have the main light switch in the right position. Second take the infra red switch out of circuit. Those two can solve a lot of problems.
  9. Welcome, intresting hobby. What sort of maps have you got? Always looking for info to visit places.
  10. Welcoem! I used to have one of those. Have you got the big heater bettween the seats?
  11. A friend of mine is making a model of the Type B bus. He wants to know what was the overall colour scheme of British vehicles, Western Front, early part of the Great War. Can you advise please?
  12. Thanks. The fun you can have for a small amount of money.
  13. Thanks Richard. I'll try scanning and enlarging the vehicle ones for easier Ident. I'm thinking mid 1920's?
  14. Been to a local boot fair and got this group of Cigarrete cards for a £1. The Air Raid precautions are mainly WD & HO Wills. The large thing with the shell is from Gallaher and described as 'Silencer on a Big Gun' ! :nut: The other ones are just marked Modern Armememnts. A series of 50 subjects from Actual phtographs. By Louis Gerard, London. Not the howitzer with tracks around the wheels. Idents please.
  15. But! Your then associated with Cla*kson! :red:
  16. The age of the vehicle, it is outside most of the regulations anyway. Can't see a problem. My left hand drive 101 ambulance was K on outside M on inside. A lot of commericail and busues are K on the outside.
  17. True ! I do know of one case where someone enthusiastically serviced an automatic. The gearbox locked and the engine blew up. No oil in engine, twice as much fluid in box! Or the real classic. A shunter fueler at the garage decided to fill up the engine oil till it came out of the top of the dipstick tube.
  18. Stick an Isuzu engine in a classic Range Rover, nearest thing to motoring perfection!
  19. I was buying a Range Rover with an Isuzu engine fitted at the time Chertsey were testing a Perentis. So I phoned a contact and asked if the engine had any problems. I was told 'Don't overfill it wth oil'. My engine did about 500,000 miles I know off. Very solid and relaible engine.
  20. Those are the rules we run under. The vehicle can finish the day.
  21. And Ruhbabrb to you! I would love a classic Range Rover back. Unfortunatley Land Rover and disiel engines have never been a good combination. If it comes to spending money on vehicles. my Baby's get the money, after all, they 'aint making Dodge WC range anymore. Thanks Mike, I'll take a look.
