  1. No sympathy available for that here! Mind you a lot of advice, some even helpful. Welcome along.
  2. Welcome Mark. I learnt to drive trucks on the TK, still have a soft spot for the old sods.
  3. Commercial buissness = Full rates. The trick is to find the compromise that keeps both sides happy. Daft thing is a lot of Private Schools and boodles per term are 'Charitys' and cane buy cheap EEC subsididised supplys! Got to be worth spending a few quid on a Rating advisor as suggested.
  4. And here we go again! What is a 'reasonably' laid out museum? How about a walkway, dividing vistor from work area like a MOT viewing area. The museum would demonstrate practical mechanics, the construction of a vehicle and it's components nad the restoration techniques used. Sell the idea to a daytime TV channel and you could show a profit! I've used such setups outsides at shows, attracts quite a few visistors.
  5. I feel some experiments coming on! :cool2: Lots of alloy fittings on Landy's and DEET is easily available.
  6. Just taxed my WC51 on line, no problems. You do have the answer the intial MOT question yes to get onto the board, but then just a few clicks and in the post.
  7. Welcome, intresting project, please keep us up to date.
  8. Wonder if that is a Britsh Seagull outboard.
  9. Easier to get dimensions and get one made up yourself. After all 'In the Day' if stuff got scruffy, indent to stores for a new one.
  10. The only two ways I can think of, is either Agricultural use, or some relif if you are a 'Start up' buissnes. Rates are a complete nightmare, a few years back indoor riding schools were to be classed as 'Commercial buildings' and the rates were set to rocket. Unfortunatley if you work out the earning potential of a factory as compared to a riding school, the diffrence is galactic. A compromise was worked out, but costs still rose.
  11. Didn't insect spary melt the original SA80's?:-D
  12. Must get eyes tested. Just looked up MOS on Wiki. The few vehicles I've seen with that MOS plates have been odd ones such as a Disiel engined RL supplied to a research unit for instrument testing, though they had a very wide remit. Intresting little snippet: Off wandering around the net came across this: http://www.ukwarcabinet.org.uk/organisations/2
  13. Ministry of Supply obtained vehicles for Goverment departments, including Ministry of Ag and Fish and Ministry of Defence departments such as Chertsey and Fort Halstead, so may not be strictly military, but could have a connection.
  14. Welcome Ted! Come to Ver Sur Mer, I'll point you to the BEST Calvados in Calvados, ie the WORLD!!!! :-D
  15. Welcome Tony, not far from me. PM if your looking for spares.
  16. So that answers that!:-D Just curious. I've managed both without using a remote, but went into all the rigmarole of wether to mount one when I was doing Katys the WC54's brake. Where she had been standing due to Carol's illness the fluid ended up more like a treacle. Whole lot where changed.
  17. I was lucky the top of my master cylinder fitted standard BSP fittings. The result was I was able to fit a pressure bleeder. I do wonder about a remote resovoir though as a Dodge needs a gap in the top of the master.
  18. Glad you're happy! Hope it works out. :-D
  19. I got told by DVLA I owed an £80 fine because my vehicle wasn't on the Insurance database. When I rang up DVLA and said what can I do about it? The answer was nothing! Only the insurance company can. They got told get stuffed see you in court, and the Nautically named insurance company got thier ear bent. Vehicle apperaed nothing else heard.
  20. Is well worth restration! Obvious checks are chassis state and bulkheads, if you are EXTREMLY lucky it may be a rare aluminium bulkhead, which saves a fair amount of work. Has it got military plate on it? Should be on the side of the seat box. Gaydon will probably have the history.
