  1. Least you can push a bike when it runs out of fuel :cheesy:
  2. thats great news, it sounds good on the video footage, looks like it pulls well to. Keep up the great work see you soon.
  3. What do you mean they are still big pots with 6 cylinders, the engine is roughly 17 Ltrs so that's about 2.8 Ltrs per cylinder.... thats a whole v6 Granada engine in one pot :wow::wow:
  4. Here are some pics I took. First four at the camp site. Friday, School day in Dorchester for the kids. Martins town by the green.
  5. There was a big writeup about it in one of the MVT mags sometime ago, gave the history of it, built after the war and did not see service. But it has now been cut up and gone. :embarrassed:
  6.    Errrr, sorry to say I ran out of time fiddling with the jets, I have improved the stutters but every time you change something you need a good run to prove the change, it just took too long so I put the old carb back on for A and E. All I have to say is there was a noticable difference putting the old one back on, lost alot of pull from low down and seems to run out of pull towards top end. But will try again when I get more time.
  7. Hi there, the ammeter by the start stop switch shows the current being put in to the battery. they recommend at least a 100 Amp / hour battery, also it will take a while to put back into the battery what you took out starting it.
  8. Finally got sorted out now at home, just worked out the home trip took me 3 hrs, just checked google maps for the route I took and it looks like the distance traveled was about 91 miles, so 91 miles in 3 hrs means 30 mph average mph :wow: pretty good me thinks. Will upload some pics when I get a chance. Also a very big thanks to all, especially cook house crew and all the D.R.'s how do they do it, beats me :bow: Jack go and have a lay down you did well again mate can only get better next time.......

  10. Just putting the finishing touches to the GMC high water flotation devices, you know like the land rover ones, only thing is they are quite big but should be ok if I need them. Will need volentears to take turns to blow them up though :nut:
  11. Hi Rob, I presume the parts which were damaged on your mounts have the same sort of damage as mine ?
  12. Does anyone know how to adjust the 12 volt charging voltage on these generators ? When running off load or on load I am only getting about 13.2 volts, not enough to put in what has been taken out in starting the beasie, and to keep the battery charged.
  13. What has been the outcome of this have you sorted out the issue ?
  14. Just watched the youtube vid posted by boomboom, all I can say is I have not stopped grinning yet..:D Not many shows you get to see an FH70 we had two there, and both these and my 105 fired what a sight, three Artillary pieces firing as a battery, nice.
  15. Got the diodes out see the first post.
  16. Looking for some history of these sets, when and what they were used for, what sort of ariels were used with them and anything else which might be of use. Here are some pics of it.
  17. Can I ask some questions about halftrack split axles. I presume these are similar to GMC split axles but on a bigger scale ? What is the measurement between the centres of the two axle spring mounts on the front axle ? What is the width of the leaves of front axle springs ? What is the width of axle between outer faces of hubs ( where the wheels bolt to ) one side to the other, in the straight ahead position ? What is the inner front drum brake diameter and also the shoe width ? Last of all how heavy is the engine and box ? Thanks
  18. I don't want to get in to a slanging match over this. All I can say is if you are not happy in what you saw on the Mon, which was the last day of the show and as others have said entrants do start packing up and leaving on Mon. Please try to get down and see our show on a Sat or Sun. This is all I will say.
  19. Well all I can say is try to get there on a Sat or Sun to see the difference. It did later in the afternoon. No, this "Overlord show" on the May bank holiday has been going for something like 25 years or so, don't know for sure as I've not been in the group from the start. As we have a rotation of Committee members every now and then there are always new suggestions and new ways people want to do things, so the original people who started the Overlord show are not the people who are organising it now, be it right or wrong we all live and learn the show evolves moves with the times and desires of traders and entrants. It has stood the test of time and seen other show come and go and it is still here and very popular, we must be doing something right......
  20. Well if you had turned up as a member of the public on Mon afternoon you would know the answer to that....... there was a reduction in the entrance price for all.
  21. This won't happen, we allow entrants to arrive and depart when they want its laid back and friendly, and as a smaller show do not want to be compared to W and P there are many many differences between these two events.
  22. As the show has now finished for another year I would like to send our great thanks on behalf of the Overlord Team to all those who have attended this years show, whether it was for nearly a week or just one day it's your attendance which makes our show what it is every year. As many of you already know it is well known as a laid back and very friendly show with few restriction as possible, entrants who display vehicles and want to be next to their friends who have completely different vehicles, their cars or caravans near them is no problem at this show, the same goes for the re-enactors if they want their vehicles near by then that's fine too, although it does not always lend itself to a good photo opportunity the show layout is generally there for the enjoyment of the Attendees and public who mix and make new friends and show their vehicles in the arena and not primarily as a photo shoot. This show is always on over the Last May Bank holiday weekend of the year, however as the Bank holiday moved this year we moved with it to hopefully use the extra bank holiday Tues as the pack up and go home day and try to encourage the entrants to stay all of the Mon and travel home on the Tues, some did pack up earlier others didn't. We do not restrict when the entrants or traders can turn up ( although there is a space issue with that ) or leave it is up to them, we always would like them to stay longer but you cant force people to do that when they have paid a fortune for fuel to get there ect, and as has been said in previous posts they generally have other commitments as well, we are all just very thankful that they have gone through the trouble to enter and turn up with their vehicle(s). For interested parties who want to make the most of this show, for the last few years it has been open to the public for FOUR days. Fri, vehicles are still turning up and setting up, there are a few vehicle displays in the arena through the day. Sat and Sun are the main show days with the main events going on, vehicles in and out of the arena throughout the days and battles going on twice a day. Mon is the get ready for home day with some people starting to pack up and move out, as the show starts to wind down in to the afternoon the public entrance price is then reduced to reflect the drop in vehicles and traders. Once again a very big thanks to all who took the trouble to attend.
  23. :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
