  1. I won't stay until 6.30 pm on Sunday. If its going to be enforced people will be going Saturday evening
  2. The split pins were through each end of the pin not the lugs. Not a split clamp but replacement engine had to free off the clamps which were seized on the pins
  3. Looks the same as a champ one where there sould be split pins either end to hold the pin in as it should be free in the lugs Mine was a ******* to get out lot of heat & big hammer didnt break the lugs but they got bent soon straightened
  4. I made mine from an old spark plug and a bit of tube to connect an air line
  5. Did two years as a garage mechanic. Move to a business selling bearings & industrial transmission products,we also did automotive parts including engine rebuilds. Now we just sell bearings & industrial transmission products been doing the same job for 44 years :eek:

  7. I would agree with Richard. I've got a 4.2 jaguar engine (6 cyl) on one and had to put a prop under the front for peace of mind. theres a lot of weight hanging on 4 3/8 studs its also not easy to turn it over safely

  9. Going to brooklands the other weekend she decided not to run on four cylinders. Changed plugs & points there then. found the miss fire was on number 2.Head off not valves or head gasket but the piston rings decided that they would like to see the light of day and exit through the piston top :cry: Engine out tomorrow
  10. It was a good day & sunshine. The only dampener on the day is the champs lost a cylinder (very careless):cry:

  14. the diff bearings were angular contact (thrust) bearings the taper roller are I think an australian mod
