  1. Oep 220?? Does that have an equivalent to the 90 or 140? Even more confused now, mind you, thats not hard these days...
  2. I might be plain daft here. Regarding axle oils and tracta joint oils. Ive got a lube chart from Chris which specifies a hypoid EP90 and the blurb from Champ parts says SAE140. Which is it??:???
  3. All modelmakers welcome!
  4. Interesting, i didnt consider that a vehicle classed as agri could be MOT free as well.
  5. I know of its limited mileage Degsy, never used red fuel and never questioned about it when taxing vehicle. It has only been local since Ive had it and Im sure Snapper never had any problems-stand to be corrected! Was he more in trouble with the local rozzers for using red diesel though. I know they have been clamping down on it especially at the vintage shows etc.
  6. Amazing...talking to people just goes to show what stories they have. Luckily he was OK to talk about them, many dont.
  7. Thats not just nice thats b****y nice that is! Cant wait to see more pics. Whats the story behind it, and how are you involved?
  8. Oi!!:argh:Thats mine you are talking about! Its tax exempt as its registered as an agricultural vehicle- get your facts right! There is nothing wrong with the vehicle at all, Ive got a Champ recently and need to park it on the drive, I also took it out on Sunday and it was fine. So "the chap " knows for a fact there is nothing wrong with it!!!:argh::argh:
  9. Thats an odd engine set up they have? How much did the one on ebay go for which ended this weekend?
  10. Great little vehicle, lot easier to drive day to day than a landrover, and slightly smaller too. Side doors come off easily when you want them to, tilt comes down easily. Built with VW reliability in mind. Spares are available from Canada, Germany and ebay but they do command a high price, especially for any suspension items as it is early Quattro running gear. If you are interested in one PM me.
  11. Thanks John. Probably a bleedin obvious question to those who have rebuilt an MB engine but this is my first one. I seem to have a long and a short one. One is obviously going to the timing chain cover. Wasnt sure where the other went.
  12. Where do the 2 pipes run to from the top and bottom of the oil filter on the MB engine?
  13. Nothing with me Im afraid! Maybe you should get friendly with someone who has a lathe!
  14. Welcome aboard, have a scout around, learn interesting stuff, as well as useless information!
  15. Yes, pics! No point in just talking about it! Where did it come from?
  16. :)Happy Birthday Chris, thanks for the recent help!
  17. Thanks for all that, it doesnt swing by a 1/4 it literally is all over the shop. Guess the least stressful route is to make sure the jerry can/petrol tank is full. I did wonder as it was FFW wether some part of the electrics was playing a part, especially hen under load/driving.
  18. The Champs fuel guage seems to have a mind of its own and we are of different opinions as to what is causing it. On tickover and revving up it stays static, as you drive it flips all over the place. One train of thought is suggesting the in tank float is cream crackered, the other is suggesting it is more electrical related. Any experiences?
  19. Thank you both. Is there any way from here that I can find out what unit it served in?
  20. Having driven and owned a Lightweight and a Champ, I would rather take the Champ anyday, especially for day to day driveability.
  21. I have just received the key card for the Champ this morning. Usual thing, disposed at Ruddington. There is a coloumn which is titled R.V.No. , and in this column for mine is written ASC/R/5100 . What does that mean. Apart from that it doesnt give any details to who it was attached to. The Champ above it has s/o BAOR CR, does that indicate mine possibly would have been BAOR?:coffee:
  22. Mobile chicken coop, to keep the hens oxygenated in case of gas attack...maybe...
  23. The M47's, I like the M47's...Im surprised no one has tried to get their hands on them yet.
