  1. My daughter needs one, she doesnt know it yet, but she's about the same age. Is it a toylander?
  2. Fantastic result, looks the bees knees. If its any consolation, ours has had not run for 2 days, to much head scratching. Turns out it was due to a blockage in the fuel line from a cork seal from the reserve tank disintegrating. Nice one.
  3. ICOMAM, the umbrella organization for arms and armour and military museums has sponsored a new internet magazine to showcase the work of its members. You can find it here: http://www.klm-mra.be/icomam/icomam/magazine/issue01.pdf And its all free!
  4. Ahhh, the air filter on mine isnt fitted as yet, to start it you have to put a hand over the carb mouth to get a degree of restriction as the air filter is an oil bath type and it needs a certain degree of restriction to get it going, otherwise it just floods.
  5. That might be another pic from Excercise Bumper.
  6. Ok, maybe not quite as bad as mine internally! Looks like the valve springs havent seen any action for a while.
  7. No ideas spring to mind as yet, but if its any consolation it took a feww days to get the C8 started, stripping down the carb 2 or 3 times, checking for blockages etc. We resorted to firing it up with easy start to get her running and from then on she started ok. Check the dizzy though, we fitted the C8 with an electronic kit from Frank Jolley, well worth it.
  8. Here the 2 pics I had, if anyone can resize and post them I would be grateful. From the High Street in Winslow, Buckinghamshire. Note the painted cross on the front of the "captured tank". If I remember correctly there were 3 Excercise Bumpers. If anyone can tell me how to post a pdf file I will post up the report from the War Office, makes very interesting reading.
  9. Aha! Just caught this thread! Excercise bumper, took my place round my neck of the woods, I have been trying to find more pics of it for ages, I dont suppose it gives any more details of the locations?
  10. My engine looked as bad as that when I got mine, and it housed two dead mice! All it needed was a quick decoke and new head gasket and it got up and running fine.
  11. My kids would love it , Im not sure about Mrs W though!
  12. Munga spotted in this weeks Classic Car weekly for £2,300! Blimey! In hertfordshire if anyones interested.
  13. Another thing as a tip. If you want to keep the brake lines nice and copper shiny give them a coat of clear lacquer.
  14. You are doing a grand job there Ivan, dont lose heart! If it will help I will dig out a couple of pics of the carb linkage to my C8, it should be fairly straightforward.
  15. those ones on the axis history forum are fairly well known pics. Nice try though!
  16. I can probably source them for you , we dont use them very often, but there are 2 different valve sizes.
  17. Nice pic abn, but can you find any C8 GS pics??
