  1. Programme called the above on Monday in the evening. The local rag which has listed this is a bit cutting about it. A WW2 recreation weekend in Kent. Anyone any thoughts on it, or knows anything about it?
  2. That makes us more "Executive" Clive! ;-)
  3. Im getting a spare one or two made up anyway, so will let you know. Im told him to take his time,a ther was no rush, so hopefully keep the cost down.
  4. Somebody would probably appreciate that if it was in the Tate Modern!
  5. Looks like the piece of guttering that fell off my neighbours house the other week during the heavy rain! Im guessing part of an NBC filter?? :dunno:
  6. Hello Sam! A Saracen as a starter vehicle, thats a lot of heavy metal for a starter vehicle! But why not....common sense doesnt have a place in our world. There were a couple up for sale recently, on ebay and milweb..... ;-)
  7. 3 Hour drive to take him to school and back!!? It better be a good school! Im sure I saw him bunking off around those parts the other day! ;-)
  8. Im guessing Daimler :dunno:
  9. We are not worthy....
  10. You just need some "Danger UXB" signs to put up in your parking space!
  11. What magazine....I'm guessing its not Hello magazine! :-D
  12. ...and if they did, whats the availability of spares, body panels etc, anyone got any pics? Thanks
  13. Did the military ever use the CJ7?
  14. Final call for any questions you want to ask Kevin Wheatcroft, as I intend to post him an interview over the weekend. Or any photos of any vehicles you would like to see?
  15. That would be good Simon. As I said I have no bottom part of the windscreen left, so any measurements as regards that would be great. Thanks for the help.
  16. Thanks Simon, the doors on mine arent too bad apart from the bottoms are a bit ropey. I had some windows made up from the original glass that came with the vehicle. When it came to test fitting in the frames to see where the bottom of the frames should be, it seems one side, the repaired side is about 2 inches bigger in height than the drivers side. Not sure what to do there yet. But it is good when you star to put the green paint on, feels like you are getting somewhere! ;-)
  17. Welcome aboard! Always good to see members from across the pond. :-D
  18. I must admit before I was employed in the world of vehicles I used to own a Ford Capri, (those were the days), I had a slight ding in the front metal bumper which I thought I would pull out. I attached a length of chain to the front bumper and the other to a lamp-post. The thought being if I reversed slowly I could pull it out. I did more than that as the trusty Capri reversed it completely pulled off the front bumper, metal brackets and all. :whistle:I decided to keep the "clean" look of the car....
  19. The panel that covers the control box and the sides was put in place this afternoon. Fairly straightforward compared to the other panels.
  20. I do like ebayers who cant spell! :-D
  21. Double checked. There are 6 names spelt Cockroft, and not a Willie in them! 2 Willian Cockcrofts, but wrong middle name. Just had a quick look on the medal cards index and there are 4 Willie Cockrofts and 8 William Cockrofts! So they do have something, even if its just his medal and awards card- but you have to pay to access them!
  22. I will double check. When you do a comp search of the N.A. you have an option to exact match a name or include close matches. With older records its better to see if there is a close match due to spelling mistakes, illiteracy to a certain extent, the spelling of Shakespear and its many variations is a good example.
  23. A Skoda got towed along to our place to have a clutch fitted by a couple of our regular female customers, one in front one in the car behind being towed. It wasnt until we went to get the car in that we saw where they had attached the tow rope.... http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o72/rik242_2006/skoda001.jpg[/img] It was attached to the bonnet catch on the slam panel of the car. It has pulled the slam panel off of its fixing points on the wings, bent the radiator off its fixings, bent the front crossmember and creased the chassis on either side of the crossmember. " Wont it just push back in?" "Err, no madame..." :-o
