  1. Correct - the NLBA was the second private owner. There have been several since! Andy
  2. Welcome aboard - let us know what you're after and we'll see what we can find! Andy
  3. Was it John Dodd who also built a "Lady Penelope" car round a Merlin? Andy
  4. Looks like it could do with a sympathetic new home! Andy
  5. But presumably therefore subject to the usual VCR restrictions? Andy
  6. I didn't realise a Judge could overrule mandatory sentences, I thought that was the whole point of them. Andy
  7. A "rocket launcher, or any mortar, for projecting a stabilised missile" is a Section 5 weapon. What I find more worrying is the judge's comment that the owner "should have checked if this was a potentially dangerous weapon or not". Does this suggest that a deactivation stamp and certificate isn't good enough, an owner must somehow check the weapon themself? Andy
  8. Another thought, make sure you're near a hose when you come ashore. You'll want to get that salt water off asap. Andy
  9. No to the flashing lights unless you consider yourself to be a hovercraft! Andy
  10. Oh, and don't forget a marine VHF radio, a GPS and someone who knows how to use them! Andy
  11. I'd strongly agree with that, and make sure you've got some competent people to navigate. Think it through VERY carefully and arrange a support vessel such as a RIB to accompany you. Andy
  12. I can't find it either, but FV708845 and FV708846 are parts from the Scimitar's GPMG mounting, if that helps narrow it down? Andy
  13. Ah - I see now, I was seduced into thinking the circle in the centre was a turret ring. As a reconnaissance vehicle they wouldn't exactly have been stealthy, would they! :-) Andy
  14. Doesn't this also depend on the individual state in the US? Andy
  15. 10/10 for bravery Chris - this will be an interesting thread to watch! Andy
  16. You can see the RN version of this ("Box Ten") on HMS Belfast, or the somewhat simpler torpedo computer on HMS Alliance. Amazing pieces of machinery which Charles Babbage would have had no trouble in recognising! Andy
  17. Is it some sort of missile launcher? Andy
  18. Strictly speaking, the IEC would define 110V DC as extra-low voltage, but I'd still be inclined to treat it with utmost respect! Andy
