  1. That Saladin appears to be in distress! :-) Andy
  2. Were the offending bits present when you viewed the vehicles? If not then I don't think you could claim any right to them, unfortunately. Andy Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  3. Item 5 is an oil pressure switch, used to feed the oil warning light. It's common to a number of R-R engines including the K60. Andy Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  4. Only some users such as the MOD can still use Halon extinguishers, all others should have been decommissioned by 2003. In practice MOD went over to FM200 for fixed extinguishers and CO2 for removables. Andy
  5. I didn't realise they had a detachable keyboard. Clever! Andy
  6. I turned down the Dinscott Collection's CHARRV, which eventually went for scrap. I'm still not sure whether I made the right decision or not, but I thought it was just too big and heavy to maintain with the time and effort I could bring to bear. Andy
  7. The seller of the complete-looking one on Milweb a few months back was asking in the region of £60k if that helps? Andy
  8. That was so blindingly obvious I'm surprised it's taken this long for someone to catch on! Andy
  9. Thanks all - I went for Palletline in the end; £72+VAT. Their online ordering system is very easy to use. Andy
  10. Ditto - I went with my godchildren last year. We were the only people there and it was nice to see a museum that actually encouraged people to crawl round things! Andy
  11. A quick question for the collective - any ideas about best prices for pallet delivery at the moment? I've got a heat exchanger I want moving from Tavistock to Wellingborough. Andy
  12. Looking good Shaun. What's the VRN of your Abbot? Andy
  13. The Queen Elizabeth class carriers are 920 feet long, 230 feet wide and displace 70,600 tonnes ... :-) Most people don't realise they are built that big as a simple result of Newtonian mechanics. Assuming conventional take-off, the aircraft has to reach a certain take-off speed and there is a maximum force you can impart to the airframe before it breaks. That determines the length of the flight deck and everything else follows. Andy

Is anyone else with Tapatalk for Android having a problem where some posts refuse to download? The screen just sits there saying "downloading" but never gets anywhere. This only happens occasionally and I can't see anything in common between the posts that don't work. Andy
  15. I bought a low (40) hours ex-Bulldog conversion pack from Liquibiz for the princely sum of £750. I didn't see any re-con packs out there at the time. Andy
  16. Which begs the obvious question of why Withams didn't sell it themselves! I certainly haven't seen any 432 packs go through their website. Andy
  17. I'm intrigued as to where this all came from in the first place. I'm assuming that Hamptons are/were a scrap dealer of some sort? Andy

The story of this one has always amused me: http://www.livesteammodels.co.uk/dhmg/englcent.htm Keep up the good work, I'd love to see it next time I'm passing. Andy
  19. That's bizarre. DVLA get very excited about blood pressure for LGVs. Andy

That's the one, and it was on TV so it must be true! Andy
  21. You shouldn't need to sink to those depths ... Andy
