  10. Over the last 30 years or so have used just about everything. To be honest I now stick to 'Gunk'. All though not the cheapest I find it goes a long way, does shift old grease oil etc. and dry's to a none greasy finish. Just my thoughts.

  14. Why did I not look in my users handbook No. 12258? Drawings do indeed show the sling with those type of hooks. Shows both types, army and Marines. Yours looks like the Marines one. Both types require special eyelets and mounts to fit to the rifle, look quite complicated. Also required lanyards and muzzle covers. I have a parts book somewhere, not sure if it included the artic slings though. Army sling states made up of two, L2A1 and a L3A1. Marines, L4A1 Hope of some help. Book quite thick and wont open up to scan.
  15. Hope they find a good home. A friend who does house clearances as over the years given me such groupings of pics. photo's etc. All saved from bins thrown there by folks who thought they were worthless, usually the family. Very, very sad. My oldest collection is a few letters dated 1917 from ? somewhere in Europe. Only ever started to read one, made me feel like I was prying, very sad letter. Stoped reading and never read any more, just keeping safe.
