  1. Weber carburettors are the spawn of Satan! If you don't have the tech to fit an SU Carb, the Zenith is the next best thing. Lovely carbs, easily serviced, great power and torque. Alec.
  2. Hi Folks, Looking for an M101A2 or M116A2 8-stud trailer. Alternatively a complete drum-braked Sankey Widetrack or a Rapier Chassis. Asking as I'm doing a down-south-and-back this weekend so ideal opportunity for a look-around. Alec.
  3. Can you post a few photos please? Alec
  4. Hi Mike, that is correct. Regards, Alec.
  5. Well, after a bit of research I'm definitely looking for one There are two types, one with heavy-duty 5-stud axles designed for behind trucks and lighter duty surge-braked (hydraulic overrun) 8-stud axles. Please PM if you know of an M101A2 with 8-stud hubs available. Alec.
  6. Hi Folks, Wanted for a trailer build, a GM/Chevy 6-stud 8 or 12 Bolt rear axle. Diff not important, main parts are the axle tube and the ends/brakes/hubs. Would also consider a 14-bolt 8-stud fully floating axle. Alec.
  7. Hello, If you are in Caithness, we have one you can measure to your heart's content! :-D Alec.
  8. Hi Folks, Going on a southern adventure to the Midlands/bit further next week, wondering if there are any M101A2 trailers on the go that I could either look at to get a real idea of the makeup of them or potentially, maybe, possibly, purchase? :cool2: Any info gratefully received, thanks. Alec.
  9. Lovely! Where did you bring it from? Alec.
  10. Excellent article Clive! Alec.
  11. FINAL UPDATE 12th November - Order placed for 2x Narrowtrack Canvasses. Several emails/phonecalls and a letter later over the next couple of weeks, no response. By good fortune I had paid via PayPal... 29th November - I opened a dispute to try and get a resolution - No response. 6th December - Escalated to a Claim to recover funds... 15th December - Apology received, said that covers had been sent but were held up at a sorting office. Asked if I still wanted the covers, if so they would recover and re-send on Thursday 17th. I replied that I wanted them. "I can assure you covers are being returned to me then I will relabel & get them sent out". Request for Tracking Information The seller responded to our request for delivery tracking information. We still need to investigate and confirm this information, but we wanted to share the seller's response with you: Tracking Company: Royal Mail Tracking Number: 01 This did not fill me with confidence...... No further contact/response from them. 27th December - Refund issued So, all in all, over 6 weeks later I recovered my funds. I shall NEVER order from this amateur outfit again. BUYER BEWARE! Alec.
  12. I love old Haulamatics. Fearsome beasts to the uninitiated. If you have the balls to get it in top gear in the allinson and let it wind up, by Christ it does some speed!! :nut: Alec.
  13. What's the latest on this trailer? I sent a couple of emails but no reply? Alec.
  14. Oh no, it is there, their address, email and telephone number. They just dont acknowlege any of them!!! Alec.
  15. They haven't answered the telephone after 3 attempts. Facebook? No. Alec.
  16. Any positive feedback on this company?? Well, judging by my current situation I think Classic Military Corner are a bunch of chancers! Bought two sankey narrowtrack canvasses on the 12th, no sign of delivery, no response to emails or a letter. Going to try to claim my money back via credit card next! Alec.
  17. Mk3 Widetrack, definitely interested, PM Sent. Alec.
  18. Tried a few leads but still searching for a gearbox PTO or a Transfer Box with a Mech PTO. Alec.
  19. FULLY agree with the above comment. It's no more/less expensive either! Alec
  20. Metcalf Farms assisting....... Alec.
  21. Hi Folks, Stripping an MJ Chassis for shot blasting and the question of the chassis plate has cropped up. For those unsure, it is a fairly thick anodised alloy plate with the info stamped into it, which has then been bonded/stuck to the chassis. I haven't tried anything yet, unsure as to wheter its stuck with that heavy duty double-sided foam pad stuff or bonded with something else. Any experience with them? The plates in the cab have come off with the help of a hot air gun, they were only lightly glued/attached. Alec.
  22. I've asked around but its proving tricky to find one. Here are a few photos for sizes etc..... Alec.
  23. Good shout Richard, I've seen them on fire engines to drive the water pump at the rear but they appear to be a bit thin on the ground. No reason why it couldn't have a small prop and hard-mount the pump to the chassis rail.. I'll try the usual suspects for one.... Thanks, Alec.
  24. Afraid not, the one I have and the others I've looked at sit flat directly upon the chassis rails. Typical..... Alec.
