  1. 4 Mk1 was a solid fuel range, collapsible so that it was portable. 4 Mk2 was trailer mounted, initially petrol powered but modified to LPG powered. No2. Mk1 was as per Crossland Ltd/Villiers Mar-Vil style/British Safety Stoves Mk1 with a detatchable tank/vapouriser and a cast iron burner. No.2 Mk2 had a roarer burner and front flame control No.2 Mk2 Modified had a silent burner and side flame control No.2 Mk2 up-issued had the original Mk2 retrofitted with a silent burner but had the original control spindle blanked off and the cutout can still be seen on the front panel.
  2. Have a look over on the Classic Camp Stoves forum, there's lots of photos of various examples, including the less common nowadays Hurlocks, Towson & Coxsons and other ones. For some the Nomenclature has changed, ie the No.4 was a solid fuel type, but the No.4 Mk2 was the trailer mounted type. They in turn went from being petrol fuelled to being LPG fuelled so there were lots of subtle tweaks over the years. The No.2 for another example went through 4 variants in two Mk's for added confusion Alec.
  3. Link responds that the Online survey not available i'm afraid? Alec.
  4. Yes, Lister JP3 Generator, excellent bits of kit. Linked decompressors, these can start easily by the handle when the need be! Alec.

Done. I'm running Brave Browser now. Free install, no hidden costs, No ads except site-sponsored ones, the Forum is back to looking itself! It just shows how invasive adverts have become. I was popping in once or twice a week because I couldn't be ar$ed with it all. Normal service has been resumed for me. @Jack good luck with the ads and spam control old bean! Alec.
  6. I have yes! I enjoy comparing and contrasting them. I've tried some French, German, Czech, US, and an eastern-bloc (couldn't say which) ones in the past. Alec.

I may have made a breakthrough, there is a browser called Brave Browser, a mate swears by it and he's just opened up the forum in it on his machine. No ads (apart from the Flux/Allied Forces Site Ads, they are fine). I'm going to install the browser tonight and have a play with it. Its Chromium based and you can select to block/aggressively block adverts, also to allow certain adverts. If it works, it'll be a gamechanger for me 😁 @Jack it doesn't help the issues at your end but may help them at ours? The joys of technology eh? 🙄 Alec.

If it comes to considering a bulk order I would buy a few rolls, would be handy to have on the shelf. Alec.

Initially nothing but adverts but start scrolling and its just the lower one left thankfully! Alec.
  10. Looking for original 3-hole and 2-hole Pot Stands / Cooking Vessel Stands for my Hydra Burner Setup. Would also consider single "haybox" stands , although these are likely non-existent these days. Any condition at all, things can be repaired or used as patterns, happy to make you an offer. See attached photos as examples, not all mine, some from ebay/the web. Thanks, Alec.
  11. Discreet and unobtrusive, no-one would give it a second glance 😁 Alec.
  12. Good grief, that must have been listed in the last day!!! Cheers. Alec.
  13. Hi Folks, I'm looking for a copy of "The Green Machine" if anyone has a spare in their collection. Thanks, Alec.

Hi Jack, the RH advert is gone, the rest as-is. Alec.
  16. Snap, no search results found. Alec.
  17. I didnt spot this thread until after I posted my own, sorry. I am finding it infuriating as well!!! 🤬 To cap it all, the massive advert at the top is now for an adblocker!!! You do wonder about these things...... 😩 Alec.
  18. Is it just me or does anyone else think the adverts on the site are starting to get out of hand? At least 40% of the screen is taken up..... 😩 Alec.
  19. Blanking caps and drain taps, it looks like it right enough 🤔 Alec.
  20. Would the hoses have been left attached during transport or stowed away in lockers when not in use? I assume there would be shutoff valves etc in place to isolate the bowser? Or would everything be lifted/pumped through the filter as it was required? Interesting things these small self contained systems, and all important things in the grand scheme! Alec.
  21. Hi Folks, Is anyone able to measure a set of M1937 Cooking Range Frying Pans/Pots/Lids for me? I believe I may have two pairs of pans and lids, they look different to the usual kind seen in M1937 pamphlets in that they have large fixed square-loop handles on the lower "pan" section that splay out to clear the lid/fryer when its fitted. This may mean they are later types or for a different range entirely? I bought them 8 or 9 years ago to use with my Hydra Burner kit. I'm fairly sure they would have been advertised as "British" when I bought them but cannot recall. They are too large for the conventional Haybox stands and Mk3 Oven anyway. I intended to make up a stand to suit them but if someone else can make use of them in their original application, all the better 😄 I'd like to confirm exactly what they are before trying to trade them for Hydra items.... Here's a photo from when I bought them, I should have them dug out of storage for some fresh photos/a measure-up shortly... Cheers, Alec.
  22. I have a couple of these (one still attached to the remains of a 2A bumper 🤣). They don't inspire confidence as there is no positive locking/latching mechanism for the spring loaded top "keeper" (although I'm sure they were fine for years while in service). I intended to drill a 1/8" hole for a retaining pin through the body and the "keeper" plate but just tend to use my NATO style pintles instead. I do have one mounted on a front bumper for low speed shunting purposes though, its fine for that. Very useful for steered/ackermann trailers/plant. If I were to tow anything any distance i'd want a locking device on it just to be sure. Alec.
  23. Fascinating! I see the "bogey"/axle for want of a better term is located by the leaf springs and has a friction damper in each corner, but are there any other "stays" or pivot arms to keep things central? It's a cunning design. I can see that its effectively a square-surrounded/centerless beam axle but its still a little brain-bender 🤣 Alec.
