  1. Yes, I have several of these, nibbed, un-nibbed and early tinned steel versions. Alec.
  2. Vastly overpriced for one of the common ones! Unless its an unmodified early one which are rocking horse poo, (and I would dearly love to find one), most were updraded to Type Ds' or Type Fs'. The one in the link is a Type D. Alec.
  3. I tried the RLC Museum 3 or 4 years ago and they hadn't anything spare at that time. I may try them again though, good idea. I have a 2-Hole, but I am after another one or a 3-Hole. I can't use the oven and the boilers/fry plate at the same time. I have a good selection of the equipment now, I've been searching for years for the stuff, if I could only find a 3-Hole I would be set! I'm contemplating making up some of the "Stands" for the 6-gallon dixies, the ones that nest inside the insulator with the pan and slot-together. I made up a trench plate the way I think it should be, just to see how it looked. I haven't had the balls to set one in a trench yet, I'd rather see it and any developing issues before it goes out of hand. They are excellent bits of kit to use though. Alec.
  4. The hunt continues.... I am looking for 2 or 3 Hole Pot Trivets, or trench plates (rectangular plate with oval hole) for the Cooker No.1 setup. I appreciate most of these have ended up in the scrap metal bins but thought I would ask again to see if there were any lurking in sheds unused/unwanted! Any condition, happy to use them for patterns. Happy to organise collection. Contact with information please. Thanks, Alec.
  5. I'd be interested in one if they are. I'll dig out my military parts book to see.... Alec.
  6. No, no, that is the correct jet for the modified burner. The plain No.2 Mk2 jets are hexagonal brass carriers with steel inserts. Alec.
  7. The M1009 is still doing well. It needs a radiator badly but it's still rumbling away nicely 😁 Alec.
  8. Hi Folks, I'm looking for a spare burner head for a No.1 Burner / Hydra Cooker, with/without jet cleaner assy. Any condition of burner head (yes really) considered, either the squared off type as per the attached photo or the curled-pipe type, up to and including a complete Hydra Unit. Thanks, Alec. N.B. 9. Thanks for the heads-up 👍Unfortunately not an A2 (I'm after the model with chevy stud pattern). Cheers, Alec.
  10. Hi Folks, I'm looking for a couple of 6 Gallon cooking insulators/hayboxes if anyone has any at the back of their sheds? I would also be interested in any of the cylindrical flasks (thermos style, holding maybe a couple of gallons). If you have the backpack to go with them, even better. PM with details please. Thanks, Alec.
  11. Hi Folks, I'm looking for Hydrastatic Cylinders or cylinder parts for an early 80" Land Rover, particularly the rear ones. Fronts are 1 3/8", Rears are 1 1/8" diameter and they are of cast iron. Complete cylinders or parts/springs/pistons/etc in any condition considered. LH/RH, it doesn't matter as they can be machined to fit either side and re-sleeved to spec. Fire a PM if you have anything lurking in a shed please. Long shot but sometimes they pay off! Alec.
  12. I asked him about manuals at the time and he never got back to me. I have a reasonable selection but some elude me. Alec.
  13. Hi Folks, Looking for a supplier of Gaiters for 16" Divided Rims, in the UK. Any recommendations? Alec.
  14. I'd post your other machine photos here as well. That bloke seems to have gone into meltdown about wanting the thread closed! :wow: I like your Belt Lacing. I have seen images of it in books but never in the flesh! Any problems with it wearing out/rubbing through? When we join a belt it is usually the countersunk bolt/button/strap method. It too is less noisy than the staples/alligator for joining. I have a war pattern 18" LeBlonde turret lathe and an old 1930s/40s British Denbigh drill, alongside one or two marginally newer machines! I'd like a smallish radial arm and/or a mill to add to the collection at some point in the future. Alec.
  15. Now that you have had an evening to reconsider, how about reinstating the thread and all of the great machinery photos? Alec.
  16. Hi Folks, Looking for an M101A2 or M116A2 8-stud trailer if there are any on the go? UK preferred :cool2: Any info gratefully received, thanks. Alec.
  17. Woo Hoo! :-D Bright bits would be the clamp and the rolled-edge? Generally the bright bits would be the hotter region. Perhaps the colour settings are reversed or they are acting as a heatsink? Or, thinking laterally, perhaps the test was subjecting the coil to influences of higher external temperatures to see if it would break down? the clamp being hotter and the rolled edge where it touches a surface? Hmm.... Alec.
  18. A UFO? Death-Ray? Or an artistically photographed ignition coil? Honestly Clive, you've plummed new bizarre depths with this one.... :nut: :-D Alec.
  19. Hi Folks, I'm looking for a copy of the circuit description or even a manual (i'd copy&return or pay for a copy) for the Brush SDAF Generator, (or one of its brothers, even the dc start version). These were prolific from the late 60s to the early 80s and were fitted to Listers, Petters, Rustons and others in military and civilian guise. Just throwing it out there... Other forums/ebay have thrown up no leads to a manual/handbook. Thanks, Alec.
  20. Great trip! Hope all problems get ironed-out soon! Alec.
