  2. lets face it how many pre 1960 vehicles do u see on the road 1 percent 2 percent of all vehicles on the road, far better to spend money on ensuring foreign hgv drivers haven't had one to many vodkas on the overnight ferry coming to uk!,hope and cant see this petition going anywhere.
  3. not sure about this one seems wrong to be voting for more legislation ie red tape, still think if you are at show and u see vehicle thats driven on road and its obviously not fit have a chat with owner. ( if u get a sore nose dont blame me!)
  4. you need a ferret that will cure you of your terrible addiction:D
  5. negative lead -n- should be removed first when working on batteries and vice versa.
  6. large jubilee clip off pipe then slacken bolt between air cleaner and hull, air filter will lift out be careful it should have about a litre of engine oil in it
  7. if u cant start it by hand after all advice given here, charge / replace batteries, u can tow start them i suppose engage 2nd gear return lever to n position make SURE fwd/rev lever is in position you are going to be towed in! have u got copy of user hand book for scout car, ferret, all marks if not get one !

  9. ignition on, in neutral, hand brake on, you get the idea then turn that handle bud:cool2:
  10. this after a night in the pub, so bear with me! first of all i have started my ferret once from cold with starting handle and its bloody hard work! left hand engine deck up, prime carb 3 pumps throttle pedal maybe first position on choke have some one by carb ready to catch engine if she starts i presume u have a starting handle? if u have thrown your back out your stuffed , best option ! go to costco buy 2 new batteries and wack em in if the old ones got discharged on boat they are knackered might as well replace em now,by the way when engine hot piece of pee to start with handle.:cool2:
  11. at a guess would be fitted to quite a few types.
  12. well did oil and change on ferret today went well getting old filter off bit messy as at first it did now want to leave top housing however new filter went in ok turns out my housing is o ring type as against flat gasket type but fingers crossed and after a ten mile drive no leaks ,tips rags under filter body, if o ring type bit of Vaseline on on o ring helps it stay in place, take off rear deck ,when doing up top bolt keep filter bowl centralised on o ring , fill up filter body with oil ,when ferret fired up oil light went off very quick!
