1. 718K fire truck there from Shropshire Fire service. British built one, but Steyr badged
2. My limited jetlagged, stay awake all night search last night did not reveal any insights i.e. - was there any other manufacture that used that symbol (I couldn't see anything) - it dont look hand stamped i.e. custom It could possibly pre date the 94th..... I can only think it was something showy for a bike but 11 inches. Maybe a chevy 10 bolt diff cover easy to check at the local junkyard... problem then is why
3. was just checking their aircraft types, thinking possibly also a wheel spat, but dont seem to fit. someone went to the effort of making it.
4. My first thought would be odd that the military would personalise a diff cover as not something most people would look at or see. Being Airforce and their penchant for dashing around on motorcycles could it be something of a bike i.e. side cover of some description?? Just thinking out loud as is quite interesting.
5. G'Day, welcome friendly forum.... they even let Aussies in :-D
6. G'Day, Kracow is one of my fondest memorable international trips (was my first one in 1994). Great place. Unfortunately the only Polish I learnt and still remember was how to order a beer and talk to girls. The beer was quickly translated or changed to Zubrowka as the beer in '94 was terrible.
7. Well everything happening this week as my box is enroute from Shropshire GunBus to Kuala Lumpur as of today with a few bits in the back :cool2:
8. Well they caught a baby cobra in our workshop last week..... So will be more plus big momma..... I hate snakes
9. So the bulkhead is relatively ok? All the front shots show, to my poor eyesight much damage, but one of the side views its on a bit of a lean. Just curious as from the original damage shots I was thinking it would be more damaged. Anyway congrats that its not.
10. Well been in Europe the past two weeks so not much done, but we did manage to: - buy more parts - get the radiator and heating piping manufactured from stainless (was hoping to fit today but jetlagged to hell)
11. If anyone buys it, I posted some piccys of a Morris recon car in another post in here and may be able to get measurements etc. Also, I was in Germany last week and saw a Willy's Jeep chassis and was told "WWK2 Trailer of a Willy´s, there is also one further left , and there are also 5-6 original Dooge Trailer from WWK2" Also a V12 Deutz generator set, good for than diesel Land Rover conversion :-D Just in case someone is looking??
12. Was just watching CNN here in Germany and a story popped up that all the junk tanks have been sold to China as scrap. Several shots of them stacked up in piles waiting for heavy lifting equipment.
13. Reminds me of an Airforce officer kept doing something similar, ie being an inconsiderate @#$%!^$. We fixed it with 2 spoons
14. Well all the little rust bits have been welded up so the missus side of the car will be less drafty :yay: Did the crimping on my winch cables and found the new tool does a perfect job. Before: After (crimps it on 3 sides): I kept getting told to use a blunt cold chisel and I figured if I am rebuilding everything else why bodge the terminal connections. The hydraulic ones a a tad more expensive. The winch don't work as possibly a seized solenoid. Something else to fix when I get back from Germany.
15. I agree, but I couldn't find a more buggered aeroplane at short notice :-D at least Bud is a better starting point than Millers
16. Given Adrian's recent threads and rebuilding finesse perhaps he could use this as a starting point for a Lancaster replica :-D I think that movie is on tv here this week.... will have to have a look now
17. G'Day....... I have you ask, what type of Pinz, 712 or 718? ex the Hafie ex military?
18. Although I been on the the recieving end of ar#$&ole red neck policemen I rank them second after the military as true public servants. With the BS in todays politically correct society, I'd hate to be a cop. Every action is scrutinised to the tenth degree or a royal inquisition. I was reading earlier that police officers are buying they own video camera systems because of the rise in personal legal suits, i.e. not against the police force but the salaried police person/individual. When I was a kid the cops brought you home because they knew the parents would deal with you, now they get spat on for persecuting poor little johnny, who would't hurt a fly but beats up old pensioners for 5 quid.
19. I like the high mounted lights better than the lower ones which to me seems odd
20. thats a newer one ie the high mounted lights :cool2:
21. yep I cannot believe the English Bobby is that daft
