1. Another day with a few things done - finished the oil change (with no mess - but cannot locate the required oils for the axle drives - yet!) - completely wired up the winch solenoid (dont work but thats the electricians problem :cool2:) - reinstalled the vacuum tanks under passenger floor (it took hours as the former bolts were seized in and would only move a 50th of a turn with each bite of the vice grips). - tinkered with the electrical axa and locking system, went for a spin (still has some glitch, back to the wiring diagram) - bled the power auto steering and it looked like a milkshake with all the bubbles (now have a small leak so have to take the spare for a rebuild ) - put the LH floor in - mounted the aircon (ok it's sitting there on top of bottle caps :-D)
2. I think most of its NOS he'll never scrap it........they keep stuff forever
3. I know the turret pads, but not the "smg box in one of the pics" can you point it out? I would think the turret pads would be peanuts (well I'd like to think so). If you guys are this keen I'll get him to unpack in all for next weekend. The UK guys we have a container possibly leaving here at the end of next month (AGAIN no I am not a dealer I am just helping someone ship other stuff to UK). So if that goes ahead he may have some space for a fee (Nothing to do with me). We did this with some rare Stonefield Hurth diffs last year For my Aussie brethren I can chuck it on one of those refugee boats that float past this way a few times a week :wow:. Although dificult, some type of combined approach is best ie if he had 10 water pumps and 5 different guys wanted them then I can say we want 10 water pumps (for the people who have lived in Asia, you know what I mean about haggling).
4. being ex Malaysian Army stuff it would have to be post ww2. I am guessing a lot of ferret stuff, because ferret owners asking and I just saw the FV numbers and went mmmmmmmm! All the old wooden boxes would be ferret, drive shafts, steering boxes, filter, piston ring sets. I never delved into the bigger boxes. The armoured door bit he said he had several of them, not sure as I found one but when I was on top of the boxes I was about 2.5m off the ground. Some later local military junk in there, hino and Land Rover but the most would be ferret as no market for it here as cant drive a ferret. Maybe other armoured stuff as saw a box with armoured wksp on it. So start a whish list and when I go back up again I'll have an attempt at catalogging it. Then someone better buy me a beer
5. I think it was the oily foot prints 4 feet after the front door never understand women folk, no sense of humour
6. I was either smile :-D or cry  got very little done after that as I was soaked in oil...... driving home was interesting and the wife was unamused
7. yeah never had that much trouble before mind you normally I lean into the engine bay a smack the correct tool screwdriver through it from the start if it dont come off by hand this time I was taking the professional approach (maybe because the only access was from below it :undecided:) ............ what a sucker
8. Especially if it's a Land Rover :-D Sore point as my mate just changed his rear seals and the last hub bolt snapped off in the hole. But yes the forum is good :kissoncheek:
9. And today, oil change, nothing special, nothing hard... yeah right....... The oil filter would not come off. Tried the oil cooler remover tool - No. Tried the chain clamp tool - No. Resorted to the punch a hole through it with the small screwdriver, followed by the the really big one (something I wouldn't recommend on a Pinz as the oil cooler is attached to the oild filter). Had to really swing off the large screwdriver to get it to budge a fraction, then at to get in a different angles to keep levering it around. A mess if ever there was one. 10. Well as the original dealer decided to change his prices, so I bought a different airconditioner unit, needing 'minor' TLC :wow: A John E Mitchell and Co. from Dallas Texas. After Googling that I found no information on my mark IV airconditioner but I did find Mr Mitchell used one of these to invent the Slurpee machine :cheesy:
11. Simple he wants to sell it all So if theres interest I can go up and go through it all. I don't want to get mucked around, generally I thought the prices ok, so if people are serious then I'm up for a dig. I'm not a dealer, just interested in helping out ethusiasts, also I buy parts from him so if I introduce buyers he thinks I'm a nice bloke. So I am scheduled to go back up again in 2 weeks. Or get an airasia flight and the lucky candidates can go trawling through junk and yards :-D
