My 83 was a GS with under bonnet but no wheel arch Mind you this is typical the things are different month by month

In the parts manual, it definately specifies the box under the bonnet for the jack.... [ATTACH]21155[/ATTACH] [ATTACH]21152[/ATTACH]

I have seen 12v ones with the wheel arch box But the under bonnet one always there.... well if you say no bolt holes... how late series III as my '83 had one

The wheel arch tool box is not always fitted. The under bonnet one 'I would have thought all had' as thats where the Jack is supposed to go. By the way, very hard to find most the time.

Apparently the Pinz torque convertors are unobtainable and have different settings or setup. I wonder if they can be bench tested [ATTACH]21135[/ATTACH]

It's way old, that series 2A was fairly new Was my old mans The tide came in a bit quick The recovery was the next day and that was what was left. He said the insurance company insisted it be recovered.

It don't look that old. Hence I keep hoping it's a Pinz tool as then I would be nagging you . I will send a copy to a guy whou knows everything about said tools and ask him.

Yep, from what I seen they are rust traps. The other problem the 4x4 prices stay fairly high as the Landrover guys like to fit the axles

Was the toolbox specific to any vehicle? Mind you so we can guess its something used by the UK Mod I just looked through the Pinz special tools but don't get a match. We do have a pulling off tool though!

any other numbers on it? any history?

It seems a few years back there were only 16 registered in the UK, but they think that's fairly inaccurate as some of the vehicles listed had already been scrapped. I thought that for a UK made vehicle it is becoming quite scarce.

After seeing some of the rebuilds in here, I think it could be done if someone wanted to. I guess it boils down to the initial price

I will have to do this when I lay my hands on a box as basically I am not handing over cash for what I would expect to be shoddy work. Plus like you mentioned there are several upgrades that can be fitted. I think it will help that I have the ZF overhaul manual for the Pinz What did it cost for spare parts? Did you get new bearings to?
