  1. Other than the mention in the Pearson's book, I would like to see evidence the C15TA was actually sent over a CKD kit. Boxed up with wheels etc. taken off to reduce height, yes, but shipped as a kit of parts to be assembled and augmented with local content - no. . .
  2. The Humber Pig was copied, or modelled along the lines of the C15TA. When you see the prototypes, there is no doubt about it.
  3. The move of the Maple Leaf Up Forum and website to a new server and domain is now completed. Therefore, as of 11 March 2011, mapleleafup.org has ceased to operate, but Maple Leaf Up is alive as ever on www.mapleleafup.net! Hanno on behalf of the MLU Admin Team

  7. A Panzerattrappe is a dummy tank. The German Army extensively used them for a variety of training purposes, from basic armoured vehicle familiarisation through to anti-tank warfare. Heroic as the German soldiers could be, they were not used in action.
  8. That crew probably had an extra shot of wodka before they took off....
  9. Great to see a QL brought back to life. Good for you to restore it to Danish Army spec., it was an important part in the truck's history.
  10. Spotted yesterday in Hillegom, Holland, a Bedford MK with radio van body hauling all the way from Ireland! Will try to get a piccie.
  11. Great project, thanks for posting the pictures. Why does it have the holes in the armour, was it some kind of instruction vehicle? Cut open for a museum to display the interior?

Since late last year, new members have not been vetted and approved pending the forthcoming changes and to minimise workload. We are sorry to keep you waiting, but we have no other choice at this point in time. Hanno

    MLU downtime

As posted before, this is an ongoing problem, and the problems accessing the site differs from user to user. For some reason the website address does not always resolve to the correct location of the forum. This problem is compounded by the passing of the founder of Maple Leaf Up, so we are now working solve it once and for all. This might include a (temporary) move to a new URL, so watch this space for further news. These URLs should give you access to the site at any given time: http://orbit.dnsrouter.com/~mlu/forums/ - at least for now for most if not all users; http://www.mapleleafup.nl/ - this one will continue to work because I control it and will have it linked to the most current URL. Regards, Hanno Spoelstra Maple Leaf Up Forum co-founder, co-owner and adminstrator
  14. Gordon, do you know this Sno-Cat? http://www.modellismopiu.net/m+gallerie/main.php?g2_itemId=257742
  15. This is a variation on the classic British theme: "when toppled over, brew-up"
  16. Looks like the Kapellen depot of the Brussels Tank Museum, see http://tankfreak.tripod.com/id2.html
  17. There you go folks, it turns out I can't see far enough. Maurice knows his stuff!
  18. Excellent stuff, seen it before through MLU. Notice the lack of guns, they were in short supply in those early days. Never mind, just shout "bang, bang you´re dead" over the wireless
  19. Those banjo differential axles are not so much "very very early CMP axles", they are plain Chevrolet Canada axles as far as I can see. HTH, Hanno
  20. Indeed, the split differential axles are Ford Canada axles. HTH, Hanno
  21. Why, if someone is expecting at least 70 grand, can't he be bothered to at least blow off the autumn leaves, let only properly clean it? Oh no, wait, those are genuine SPR film set leaves and dust of course
  22. Hi Adrian, That would be SNL G-130 - see http://web.inter.nl.net/users/spoelstra/g104/tmsnl.htm HTH, Hanno
