  1. Marcus Glenn has one for sale too.
  2. Vince, I fitted a new tail pipe and a new down pipe. Didn't change the middle bit as it looked fairly new - just replaced the rusty bits. The tail pipe fitted fine, the down pipe was another story. That was on and off about 20 times before it lined up with the rest of the system! Chris
  3. Thanks for the kind words guys. I have a bit of fiddling to do with the carb and possibly timing, it is a bit of a pain to start and needs a bit of choke to run, but when it's going it runs nice and smooth, pulls well etc... so can't be too far off! Chris
  4. Put a new seal in the new flywheel before fitting it (make sure it's a new one and not NOS) otherwise you might find yourself pulling it all to bits again before you know it. Banisters have them in stock. Chris
  5. Paul, Those early lamps are also fitted to the Fox, I know how expensive the sealed beam units are. We've only had one go so far, but not got that many left in stock! Are you planning any trips with the Striker this year? I shall have the Mutt at Beltring all being well, along with the Sabre. Chris
  6. Looks really good Paul, I hope the engine is sorted now? Just needs some proper headlamps!
  7. Last few jobs completed, besides some stencils and stickers it's ready for the MOT now.
  8. Richard, I've been looking for it it my Ferret parts book with no luck, I think you are right. I think the Fox wheel station parts might be more difficult than anything else to source. Chris
  9. Mark, Do you have a parts book? I assume this is a rear hub that's failed? The parts are a mix of Fox specific bits and Ferret bits. The part which has the broken flange is LV9CVW/2520-99-821-0047, the other damaged part I can't see a number for just yet. The spherical bit is LV9ASC/2520-99-805-8575, this is a Ferret part and you may be in luck with these as I know a forum member who has quite a lot of NOS wheel station bits. For the other bits I think you'll need to try Banisters, Jon Penton or try and find someone who's broken one for spares. Chris
  10. Post up some photos and the part numbers. Chris
  11. Simex tyres are made in Malaysia.
  12. It is impressive, but the waterproofing didn't quite work as planned. A few months later a few electrical gremlins led to the ignition panel being removed at a show, only to find it ful of water and very corroded!
  13. I'm sure I'm not the only person waiting for them! Looks fantastic, can't wait to read the write up of the Brighton run. Chris
  14. There's this one, never really spent much time there though... http://www.steelsoldiers.com/
  15. Second update from today. I couldn't be bothered to mess about with taking the engine out this evening, so decided to unpack the NOS hood, doors and side screens for a test fitting. Despite all being NOS, everthing is a different colour. Even the 2 rear curtains, which were packed in the same box, were different colours! They mostly match in ok, except for the passenger side door which is bright green. I'll have to keep an eye out for an OD one. I quite like it green, I think I'll leave it as it is this year and perhaps put some camo on next year. Anyone got any photos of Mutts at USAF bases in the UK? Chris
  16. The M151 should have 700x16 NDCC tyres, I got my Firestones from North Hants Tyres. Not cheap, but they had them in stock, gave me an online discount and they turned up the next day. http://www.northhantstyres.com/firestone-military.htm Chris
  17. No photos for this update, but I've been working on less photogenic things. The brakes have been bled and work. The handbrake is all in and working, I fitted a new band to this. The engine runs, and it drives through all gears, the clutch is working well too and the exhaust is all fitted. While running up the engine I have discovered a few leaks, one from the gearbox, the oil filter housing and the core plug behind the flywheel. All very annoying as I had put new gaskets and seals in when building it. The engine and box will come out in an hour or so, so rather than struggle to fix them in the vehicle tomorrow I'll pull it all out and sort it before refitting. Also got the last 2 wheels back blasted, primed and new tyres fitted. When these are painted I'll fit them and it's another job done. I am going to book it in to Beltring, fingers crossed it will make it ok! Chris
  18. We do have preserved ships such as HMS Victory, HMS Belfast etc. A aircraft carrier takes up a lot of space, and we haven't got as much as you!
  19. I hope his was a bit cheaper than this one? http://www.thexmod.com/item_detail.asp?id=7304
  20. ??????? Why? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/EXHAUST-VALVE-GUIDES-FITS-6-CYLINDER-XK-TYPE-ENGINES-/110582944273?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item19bf41d211 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/INLET-VALVE-GUIDES-FITS-6-CYLINDER-XK-TYPE-ENGINES-/250693124150?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a5e798036
  21. 1) They are fairly reliable, especially with the limited use they will get in civvy street. 2) You can buy the servicing schedule which answers these questions, there is no clutch and the steering brakes rarely need adjustment. The only problem being to do a proper service on the pack you need to lift it out. 3) How long is a piece of string? It depends how far away the show is, who's doing the transport etc. 4) The pack is 1814kg. Chris
  22. Andy is a member of this forum, and has his Saracen engine out again for repair at the moment.
  23. Indeed, and they aren't cheap! (http://www.mod-sales.com/vehicle/search/35349/Mowag_.htm) Wonder what they are doing with it?
