  1. David, You can try using kiln dried sand. We use lots of different mesh sizes of grit at work, but obviously it would be overkill for blasting MV parts, and also quite expensive. Chris
  2. Mark, See if you can find someone local who can do the blasting for you. I use a local farmer who's always reasonable. There's bound to be someone out your way who can do these bits for you without costing too much. Chris
  3. Mark, It's all relative, they would have cost a fortune to make& then the MoD would have paid a large markup too. Take offs from scrap vehicles aren't too expensive, but then it all depends how much you need one doesn't it? Chris
  4. These are British parts, since CVRTs are British vehicles. Parts are fairly easy to find, they are still in service and lots of them have been broken for spares. Andy has already found replacement final drives. Chris
  5. The last one of these I saw was on Centurion running gear, is this one the same?
  6. I saw the advert in Military Machines a few weeks ago. £2000 is a low guide price, they always had the Mk 2s at £3500 or more. I suspect they'll be pretty horrible..
  7. All these 432s are Mk 1s. I think most of these vehicles have been sat around for quite a while somewhere.
  8. Jack, I use this http://www.fookes.com/ezthumbs/ Chris
  9. I walked right past some of those tins at £10 Beltring the other year, and found some new ones for £5. I've seen you selling them at £25 on ebay though, so someone must have thought they were a good deal, and I won't knock you for that! Chris
  10. Nope I'm not a trader, the one in the photo belongs to the person selling it Chris
  11. Yep, you can see my brother in the background! Those Warriors are good, there are some Challenger ones too.
  12. Where have you lot been? Jacks message was 10 days ago! Chris
  13. Mick, There is an easier way to change the tyres, I borrowed this kit at Kemble and changed 2 tubes there the other year. Chris
  14. Mick, You can change the tyres over. It's a bit of a job getting the rim out of the runflats, and the insert is also a pain to get out. I use a couple of long bars to pry everything apart. You can use the same tubes and flaps, but for £10 each I suggest you put in new tubes. You can get these from ATS, they're the same as many tractor front tyres. I inflate my tyres to 40psi front and 45 rear. Chris
  15. I have this photo of my brother and myself in a Fox. I actually remember playing in this Fox and I'm fairly sure this was at Beltring in 1992. Chris
  16. They are fairly standard, you could try a local truck brake specialist. We have one near here who can get seal kits & replacement parts for pretty much anything. Otherwise you can try Marcus Glenn, Richard Banister etc. I've bought new ones for as little as £40, but seen them advertised for as much as £150. Chris
  17. Adam, Yes we had this problem on the Fox. It was due to a knackered servo. You can get replacements quite easily, so I'd change it if I were you and see what difference that makes. Chris
  18. Mark, You can get lots of Fox manuals, including the Maintenance Schedule from Vintage MV Manuals. This will tell you how much of which lubricant to put where. Chris
  19. Lightweight, somtimes called airportable, correctly called 1/2 ton.
  20. Hurry up and drive it, you will love it!
  21. I think anything designed to keep bullets out lets water in. There are no seals on the hatches, so they do leak water. If you leave a few bolts out of each drain plate the water generally runs out. Mine lives inside and usually only gets wet when I wash it. I've driven it in the rain before, the rain tends to get 'sharp' above a certain speed, it's still fun though Chris
  22. As standard there is no heater! You'll need to wear a thick coat The Canadians modified the heater from an M151, you can find the instructions on the web and the kits show up on ebay US from time to time. Some people ran a duct from the radiator louvre back to the crew compartment. There are claims that you end up pumping exhaust gasses in addition to hot air into the crew compartment, so do this at your own risk. Chris
  23. Yep they're the 90/110 type mirror arms. Lots of Series 3 were upgraded in service. My Lightweight was released with them on too. Chris
  24. Cheers guys! No plans for tonight, but hopefully I'll go out on friday night instead Chris
  25. Withams usually. Nearly all our vehicles have come from them. Chris
