  1. Found another picture in my archive, some BSA's present, so where was Chapmans? Cheers, Lex
  2. Ok, to soften the pain, here a nice article about rebuilding bikes in wartime, no names mentioned of-course.... Date is 29-07-1943 Cheers, Lex
  3. Send me the frame number (if you haven't already done so, sorry, getting flooded with inquiries) Cheers, Lex
  4. Thanks Pawel, but I think I have everything for the bike, just need to make the cables, and wiring, then it will be finished. I got the information from the Audi Archives, and they said it was an OSL200, so maybe the engine has been changed at some point, but that had a Waffenambt stamp, so army use, that is why we made the decision to make it grey. Best regards, Lex
  5. Yes, you are 100% right! I never read any further, stupid me! Thanks, Lex
  6. Yes, the plate, some people mount them on the inside of the lid, so the (postwar) history is still there, but not so obvious. Cheers, Lex
  7. Strange! but it's the right part number for a Flea, don't have the Velo p/l handy, maybe you can have a look, Ron? Also page from the riders handbook. Lex
  8. Exactly, after standing still for 9 years, the crappy stuff what they sell as fuel over there had turned into some weird laboratory science experiment! so borrowed a mate's G3 non panel tank to get me going again. Oh, and I replaced a broken off rear wheel stud too. Cheers, Lex
  9. Here's my NOS switch, now fitted to the Flea, but it has no resistor? Cheers, Lex
  10. Sorry to hear about your frame! but i'm sure you will get it right in the end! I always enjoyed visiting the Veteran Bazar in Lódz, bought many a nice thing there in the past! and the city is also very nice! I also have a 1935 OSL, but a 250, still not finished. Cheers, Lex
  11. Nope, well, it's a short ribbed one, for a 1941 G3WO, but I meant something else, something more electric! Roger on the clutch, I think I will go for the postwar 6 spring clutch, they say that it fits straight on, and works better, they have more plates. Cheers, Lex
  12. Nice result Steve!! mine is very used now, could do with a re-restore, but has to wait, my other one in the US has had some problems too, but I did ride it 2 years ago. (if you look carefull, you can see what's wrong!) Nice C10 too! we still have a clutch problem, Ron, how did you fix that on yours? Cheers, Lex
  13. Got a Vokes filter for sale at Ron's! Cheers, Lex
  14. I measure 3/16" or 4,8mm. But that is on one bicycle, better have another bikes measurement besides this one. Cheers, Lex
  15. 73 lbs?? I think there is no Polish WB's there, have a CD, with all the thumbnails, but I saved all the WB, Flea, James and other stuff. Lex
  16. Nice Ron! Alfie, those pictures can be ordered from Stilltime Archive, I am saving up to buy 100+ pictures. Cheers, Lex
  17. Nice repair Ron! Cheers, Lex
  18. Hello Bob, that is the 7th. RNF from the Tyne and Tees Division in training, south of Amiens, a little hamlet called Le Croq, (near Fontaine-Bonneleau) the (stone) building is actually a church, I still have to go back there to do a proper "then and now" picture, with the outfits, and a lonely M20. But we did visit, and talked to the locals, here 2 pictures, (thanks Jan, and Rich!) sort of then and now, have many more pictures in that area! Also added a picture of the back of the church, so you can see the steeple, plus the original IWM picture, the cameraman had to stand on the roof of his Humber to take the picture! Cheers, Lex
  19. Thanks for trying that Adrian, I always try to find locations, and know how frustrating, and difficult it is! but I did find this one! Lex
  20. Here's what they said back in the day! And here about the gloves and helmets in France: French motorcyclists required by law to wear gloves (motor1.com) New motorbike glove law in France for summer 2017 | ETA Lex
  21. I still use my 1940 fibre DR helmet, as they are much lower in weight than the steel ones, never been pulled over for wearing it though. Another matter I recently heard, and never knew, is that in France, when riding a motorcycle, you MUST wear gloves with a certain approval lable, not sure about the details, but in France many strange laws exist, and are not enforced. Cheers, Lex
  22. Contact the Tilly register, I believe on here: austineightregister@gmail.com Or from the website: The Tilly Register Cheers, Lex
  23. Thanks for this, I had not seen this before. But please change the colour of the exhaust system to silver, and take the canvas thing around the filler neck off, just my 2 P's. Lex
  24. Ok, but they are at Jan's to see if they can be etched with contract info, will take awhile, have to make the drawings, for James and Flea. Lex
