  1. Excellent, all we've got to hope for now is that the weather doesn't suddenly change for the worse . Hopefully we can get the Spartan fixed this coming weekend as we recently found out the rear idler crank arm is bent, we've got a new one lined up to be fitted so it's just a case of hoping there's no problems in getting it bolted on. Fingers crossed we'll see you there
  2. Great stuff, it'd be nice to get some decent numbers there. Unfortunately I don't think it has been particularly well advertised in the MV press. Only time will tell :-D
  3. Hi, Our apologies you are correct it is the White Lion pub, we attended a similar meeting organised by the local council last year and we all parked up on the grass outside the pub along the high street. It should be good if the weather holds Regards, Lewis
  4. Hi all, Just wondered is anyone attending the MV meet/road run at Baldock in Hertfordshire in early April? Not sure of details but if we get our Spartan fixed in time we're hoping to trundle that down for the day. I'll get dad to post in any information if anyone is interested. Regards, Lewis
  5. I believe it's 72 ft lb for the head bolts
  6. We should be taking the Ferret if the weather is kind, as it rarely is for Stoke!
  7. Hi Rich, I'd love to, I'm probably about an hour and a half away in the car so it's not too bad. Do all the volunteers meet up on specified dates? It would be absolutely great to get involved in this. Regards, Lewis
  8. Very interesting! I'd love to help out on something like this
  9. Great stuff, hope to see more of this beast in the future
  10. Does anyone know whereabouts GMC 353 reg number MSU 680 is now? We owned her a few years ago and I just wondered if anyone knew of it now, I believe it was used in the Clint Eastwood film Flags of Our Fathers shortly after we sold it. Any info appreciated :-) Regards, Lewis
  11. At nearly all shows now as a result of games such as Call of Duty the Bren is constantly being mistaken for a 'Type 99' by the kids, as featured in a recently Call of Duty game. Quite satisfying correcting them :-D
  12. Hi, think I'm right in thinking me and dad were up at your place back in late october, when the Abbot's torsion bar was knackered?
  13. Andy, I think I put that picture on the forum a while back along with a few others :-) Regards, Lewis
  14. Looks like my job has already been sorted! If you look at its construction it is simply a piece of tube welded into a flat plate, should be fairly easy to fabricate. The opening in the tube for the canvas pole is 25mm, so in imperial terms, an inch. The bracket overall is approximately 90mm in length. I do have more pictures if needed. Regards, Lewis
  15. Hi chaps, Certainly, should be going to the unit tomorrow so I'll see what I can do, if I remember to take the camera that is! It shouldn't be too hard to unbolt so I'll get the measurements if I can, to be honest even if it doesn't look spot on fabricated it should do the job. I think they were already on the vehicle when we got it. Regards, Lewis
  16. Hi Robin I got some photos of ours today: \ Regards, Lewis
  17. Great little machines, always wanted one! They make stupid money now
  18. Hi all, Some of our Spartan playing in the snow today, makes things interesting on sheet ice that's for sure!
  19. Just a few from snowy Bedfordshire:
  20. I think it's happened to us all, about a year ago I had a toolbox, welder, large socket set and a few other bits nicked from our unit. On the units next door they'd even hacked through the breeze block wall with an axe! The farmer keeps on saying he'll improve security, but of course being a farmer it never happens
