  1. Im sorry I dont want to lift the picture but XMOD have on their website an odd slave cable with a box on the end. The box replicates the mount found in the vehicle and the other end has a four female pin termination. Im wondering if this was a retro fit for a vehicle? R
  2. Little known fact, anything frozen has no calories therefore eat as much ice cream as you want. R
  3. They are a "cam over centre" style. With the handle open draw webbing snug and then close the handle aka cam and it tensions it. Do you need step by step photos or can you figure it out with my description? R
  4. First off if it aint broke dont fix it. It is a good idea to do the checks and make sure it is in tolerance. There is a small thin spanner that is part of the CES for the job. One of the manuals sets out the proper procedure, cant remeber where it is but its around. If you cant find it or no one replies I can go looking for you. R
  5. welcome to the forum Andrew. pop up to near Kingston sometime and I will show you some ferret tips and two or maybe four ferrets. Robin
  6. My only comment on your potential move is to ensure that your employer has a Gold plated medical and dental insurance policy that covers everyone in the family including the dawg. Ask anyone who finds themselves in an ER department in the US what the bills are like. R
  7. I have made mention in another thread but I will post this here as well. In the late 1960s when I was a kid growing up in Sussex we lived between Fletching and Nutley. In the area around Sheffield Park and Splaynes Green there was a Matador often seen working timber. I credit that vehicle with starting my interest with good honest working vehicles. Anyone know who that was and have any pictures? R
  8. What limits are there on short tracking a CVRT? R
  9. Welcome to the forum Dan, from your northern neighbours. R
  10. I think the gentleman in Norway who has been nicknamed Bin Laden should be actually called Been Collecting. Is that a Canadian deuce and a half in the pictures? not many of them survive in anything close to that condition here. Robin
  11. Thats a tidy looking machine, any clue what size tank capacity it would have? I presume its kind of a first response vehicle then? R
  12. Hmmmmm, sounds like changing parts in a hot water tank in a linen closet would be easier? What say you? R
  13. Welcome to the Forum mate. regards Robin in Canada
  14. Apologies, massive brain fart, what was I thinking! Yes I was wrong. Sorry if I woke the rest of you up! Must be the paint fumes Oooooops R
  15. MJs are good solid trucks, quiet cabs and comfy compared to the M series trucks. Easy to maintain mostly, parts readily available, engine is a Perkins turbo so plenty of parts for those. Both our two smoke like a *&^% until warm then invisible exhaust. As they were issued in LHD these are going to be the last LHDs to come out of the UK. Buy one that is useful for what you do. Our most useful one is a Bedford CALM with Atlas crane and short 12 ft deck, ex RAF armaments vehicle according to plate. See some of my posts R
  16. As previously posted, you dont mention what problem your encountering. Sounds like you enjoy spending money! I would do as Bodger suggested and turn through 90 degrees and refit, doubt you will wear it out for many years. R
  17. No parts but a good runner for sale up here nearby R
  18. Dear John, Thanks for the hint, but these guys are very pricey. My mate in Michigan is doing his own in polyurethane at an all in cost of $32 a wheel. We are likely going to follow his lead. More later R
  19. They were still in the system in the 1970's as a Cadet piece of kit, had a knack of restructing ones back during usage. There was a clip on shelf at the bottom. A really archaic piece of kit by todays Gucci bergen standards. R
  20. Welcome Tim from the other end of the country, pm me if you like, we have 2 MJ runners and a spares truck. Robin
  21. I would second the request R
  22. Oh you mad impetuos fool! Congratulations and have fun with it Robin
  23. Does anyone have any experience with casting a new running surface by casting using polyurethane instead of rubber? We are looking at it for our BV 206 R
  24. What do you use to make you tyres look tidy? R
