  2. I think it is short of the pneumatic tyres for easy moving between jobs. They fit in the mountings between the wheels.
  3. I am looking for information on preserving old canvas. I have two Items and they have canvas surrounds, I am looking for something to put on to keep them in one piece. It is not something I have done before.
  4. Is there a cargo manifest? There should have been several copies, One on board that one probably went down with the ship. Insurance company, Lloyds, Port of loading/ Shipping agents.Stevidor company, Ministry of War, Middle East HQ. Port of discharge. Local Shipping Agent. Probably several others, even in wartime the paperwork has to be done.

  8. It is hard to keep going when you are in the right and not just go with the flow. Really pleased you are getting transport sorted.
  9. Sorry to throw water on your fire. Some of the engineering was very good. Some would have made Heath Robinson wince. Its appearance as a replica is as it should be. I think some of the hands on restorations that have been and are being carried out by forum members have a better tale to tell and are far more accurate and interesting. Also individuals carrying out research on their restoration has more depth and meaning. It served a purpose honouring the fallen but it could have been a lot better. I think it ended up a TV program with a contiuity presenter. As I said at the start this is my opinion.

  13. It just seems large for 6 stud hubs. Also the Rockwell transfer box is made in France. I have been wondering if it is a high speed bus axle possibly Bedford VAL.
