andym
During a sort-out I came across this picture of my sister back in February 1974. I'd be interested if anyone knows more about the vehicle in question; the photo was probably shot somewhere in Devon (Plasterdown Camp?), where is it now? Andy I thought Plasterdown was the location of a Field Hospital just outside Tavistock. Is it more likely to have been Okehampton camp, or somewhere on the North Dartmoor ranges? Tim
andym
It may have been Okehampton, but it was a l-o-n-g time ago! I'm hoping someone may recognise the vehicle. Andy
Adrian Barrell
Well, it's a Sherman V, looks very good.
Pzkpfw-e
Serial's T212116, other photos exist, it seems. http://www.na3t.org/road/photo/BC00020-10 But not yet online.
andym
That serial number looks right from what I can make out on the photo although the web page identifies it as a Mk.4. It also says "preserved", so where is it, I wonder? Andy
Adrian Barrell
It calls it an M4, not a Mk 4. It is technically an M4A4 but known in British service as Sherman V.
