  1. The fuel system is a closed loop with fuel coming from the tank and circulating back again, so provided the lift pump has been running for a minute or so there will always be fuel in the lines. If you'd switched on, left the engine for a minute and then hit the starter I bet she'd have fired up first time. I've had problems with the emergency stop cable sticking on occasions, but the engine will always fire immediately after it's been returned.
  2. Nice photos - I'd love an AS90 ... :-) Andy
  3. There you go - I'd noticed that the carriers are identical to those shown in the Marcus Glenn photo so assumed that's what they were. Andy
  4. Aha - that'll be FV622351, "Adaptor, Towbar, Vehicular; Hollebone Drawbar, 7-1/12 in. Approx lg (alternative:- Adaptor for "A" Frame, FV430 series)" then? :-)
  5. Well done Mark - I too had looked at Dave's ARRV as it was only just up the road, but decided it was simply too big and the stories about mechanical reliability put me off. What other MV manual specifies the rpm at which various bits will self-destruct? :-( Andy
  6. Nice to know that Dave's bits are going to a good home. I was wondering if it was his ARRV that you'd bought at first! Andy
  7. If someone can give me an FV number for the wheels and/or number of bolt holes I'll take a look next time I'm there, if you like? He might not necessarily know what vehicle they're from anyway. Andy
  8. They're a scrap dealer in St Mary Bourne, just outside Andover (UK). Google lists their number as +44 1264 738397, give them a ring and ask for Neil Hirst. Hope that helps! Andy
  9. Hirsts have pallets full of brand new wheels that I believe to be Chieftain - I don't know if anyone who has seen them can confirm? Andy
  10. It looks that way - multipage individual threads seem OK. Hope that helps! Andy
  11. Abbots have a nifty stowage for the SMG magazines using the curvature of the turret ring!
  12. It's the stuff that came out of the barrel but didn't cause enough recoil to allow the sear to catch that caused the real problems. Full auto even with single shot selected ... Andy
  13. Eskmeals is an MOD range run by QinetiQ under the Long Term Partnering Agreement (www.ltpa.co.uk) Andy
  14. Here's one I did earlier .... Andy
  15. Some FV436s have generators too. However, what are you trying to generate - 28V DC or 230V AC? A common or garden FV432 will give you 200A at 28V DC. Andy
  16. Yes, I remember laughing out loud at that one! Andy
  17. Has anyone else just started having a problem where the "Page X of Y" box at the bottom right-hand of the page is overlaid by the advertisement below it? This happens with Firefox 5 on both Fedora and XP. Andy
  18. ... which all shows that it's a definite "try before you buy" at Withams! Andy
  19. A picture might elicit a few more suggestions, perhaps? Andy
  20. Agreed - it's the web side of things that lets it down. The format is wrong (essentially portrait when everyone has a landscape format screen) and it needs options for numbers and sizes of thumbnails as well as a slideshow. Not hard to fix - you just need to use a better backend presentation/viewing engine. There's lots of different ones around. Andy
  21. They're also the ones I was taught when doing my H test. I managed to reverse a Scorpion into an ISO container by obeying them! Andy
  22. Absolutely. But I agree there's a thin line between re-enactment and glorification. Andy
