agripper
Have seen at different events and museums a selection of aircraft cockpits from ww2 upto more modern aircraft where do al these come from and how do they get sold. Would love to have either a Hunter ,Meteor or Dakota cockpit. What would be your choice of cockpits?

mcspool
Lockheed Lodestar, one of the unsung heroes of WW2. Or better, a complete fuselage on a Queen Mary trailer! - Hanno
REME 245
Two or three years ago I visited a collector in Chippenham to pick up an e-bay purchase only to find the cockpit of a Dakota in his garage. The gentleman collected flight crew clothing and wanted the ultime accessory to display his collection on.. It was cut off just behind the crew seats. I believe he had imported it from Germany but it was quite a strange discovery in a modern estate garage. Withams have advertised Harrriers in the past but most aircraft are cut up in situ for scrap value. Some cockpits are also retained as training aids or for cadets/recruiting purposes.
