Just done a little searching - you've probably done all this yourself - the bad news I came across in CMV November 2001 in The Motor Pool where there was a small piece about the Luaz which concludes

For : Extremely rare , small , light & practical .

Against : Difficult spares situation .

Also found this site : www.autosoviet.altervista.org/main-english.htm

Don't know if this will prove to be of any help - hope it does .

If you go into the German ebay motoring section these motors and spares turn up. Also look in German ebay Schwimmwagen site, the amphibious ones do turn up there.
