Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself as a new member here.

I'm a member of the Canadian Forces for the past 20 years and reside in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. Primary interests are Victorian and WW1 medical, ambulances and horse transport. I also have a number of years in re-enacting, specifically 1812, WW1 and WW2.

Current projects include the future restoration of a still in service M1010 CUCV Ambulance, and the scale reproduction of a MkVII GS Wagon.

Looking forward to learning more from everyone's experience here!

Please post any photo's you have of the before or the restoration in progress phot's when you have them . Do you have any E.M.T. training by the way ? as a number of member tend to get them selves into difficulties while working on their projects at the clubhouse and it would be good to have several medical types about to help re-attach items .

I'll see if I can dig up some decent photo's of the CUCV. I did my driver training on this truck way back in the 80's, and it's still one of our best running ambulances even considering its and and service overseas (Rwanda, Somolia, Bosnia). Amazingly parts and knowledge is not a huge problem, especially since we have 4 of them.

As for the EMT training, yes. I've been a CF Medic since 1988 and am a few months away from completing my Ontario Paramedic cert. Combine that with the living history side of things, and my regiment has a great opportunity to display the history of the vehicles and the equipment. It's amazing to stand on the same ground my fellow medics and regimental members did 100 years ago!
